A hopeful entry

I loved the pace of this book, and enjoyed the "kill them with kindness" approach Alex took to the station. The space battles were exciting as hell, and I enjoyed the cast of characters expanding. The biggest issue I had with the book was Reiko's attack and rescue. I understand it's something that, under the circumstances, would be very likely to happen, but I'm also disappointed by how easily those guys were able to grab her and get away with her. I would hope she'd have a little more awareness of her surroundings than that. Otherwise, I very much enjoyed the book.
Also, a minor warning to lgbt readers, as far as I can tell, lesbians have only appeared as villains in this series - though they mostly feature in the fourth and sixth books. There's a few characters who might be bisexual but I'm really not sure. Jucha, please give me some lesbians who aren't totally creepy and predatory the way Samara and Lacey are. If you wanted to confirm Deirdre and Svetlana as a couple you'd officially catapult this series into my favorites.
EDIT: I emailed the author about it a while back and he hadn't done this intentionally, and has plans to have more balanced representation in the future. So I'm excited for that!
