'Detective Comics #941' by James Tynion IV and Steve Orlando continues the "Night of the Monster Men" story with part 3. Things are even more out of control for Gotham and the Batman family.
The refugees have reached the cave, but they've brought something with them. A strange substance is on them which is making them act violent and Orphan and Spoiler have their hands full. It doesn't help that they have no radio contact with Batman and Batwoman. Meanwhile, Nightwing is trying to keep Gotham Girl under control.
I don't know how long this storyline is going, but it's getting more and more chaotic. I'm having a fun time reading it. It's a pretty big story with a good cast of characters. Now on to Batman #8 for part four of the story!
I received a review copy of this issue from DC Entertainment and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this comic book.
Comic Book Review (7.5/10) "Good" This is a crossover event and continues from Nightwing #5 and continues in Batman #8. Detective Comics #941 "Night of the Monster Men Part 3" Story: Steve Orlando/James Tynion IV Artist: Andy MacDonald Plot: The giant kaiju-looking monster is attacking the city and Batman and Batwoman are trying to stop it. Orphan and Spoiler are keeping Gotham citizens in a cave to keep them away from the flooding from the hurricane that has hit the city, but they are covered with a mysterious red algae which is turning the citizens in the cave violent. Gotham-Girl is headed for Blackgate to stop Hugo Strange and the rest of the monsters that are attacking the penitentiary, and Nightwing is on his way to keep her safe and quell the situation. I finally realized why this crossover event was taking place when I realized what month we are in: this is DC's Halloween event with monsters, Kaiju, and gore - lots of gore. I'm surprised this book was rated T as Gotham Girl and Nighting rip the creatures in Blackgate into shreds. Guts, entrails, and blood splashes everywhere leading to horrific results! This is still a pretty fun storyline that is apart from the normal Batman storyline, but still canon in the new Batman Rebirth universe. Seeing all of the various Bat Family members fight monsters is silly, mindless fun and a great distraction if you love monsters.

This would have been a great issue expect for that ending which changed my opinion of this issue as a whole and all I have to say is... are you freaking kidding me??? Why does cr*p like this always have to happen to Dick grayson...why is it always Dick grayson..why do they always pick him? Steve Orlando said he was going to treat Dick very well in this crossover and with part 1 and 2 I was disappointed, Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, I probably am because I dont know the rest of the story.. but its 2:59 am and I just read this issue and I'm thinking about how Batman writers use to treat Dick pre new 52 and how I'm starting to kinda get that vibe in rebirth..what a joke
