1.0 out of 5 starsSuch a DOWNER of a book
Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2021
I read the first book during my first pregnancy and found it helpful, so naturally was inclined to give this one a whirl with baby #2. About half way through, I had to stop reading it; this is the first time in YEARS that I couldn't finish a book I started. If I had read this book BEFORE conceiving #2, I probably wouldn't have wanted a second baby. It. Is. Such. A. DOWNER. Everything is centered around the negative experience of having two children, and letting you know your life is over and will be miserable. Your second kid will be miserable, breastfeeding sucks, you'll be depressed, etc. etc. Which hey, might be the case and very valid. But give us SOME hope so we can actually, you know, be slightly excited and happy about a second baby. The author also tries SO hard to be funny and it just failed to inspire even a smirk. Not funny, only depressing, and lacking any real advice to plan or consider, other than prepare for the worse. If you don't want a second baby and need convincing, then this book is definitely for you - otherwise look elsewhere.
