5.0 out of 5 starsThe book I wish I'd had two years ago...

Over the past two years, I have trained for and completed 13 half-marathons. When I started this, I weighed over 300lbs. I've lost more than 100lbs as I've trained, but I doubt that I'll ever be conventionally "thin". I have read many books on half-marathon training and followed a number of different plans. I've gleaned a lot of useful information from them, but I always felt as though I had to amend them to fit me. Not necessary with this book, because Jill Angie is the only running coach I've encountered who "gets" us bigger girls and our unique challenges -- both physical and mental/emotional -- as we train. I read this book in under an hour, then read it again, and will be following her training plan for my upcoming November and December races.
