— BACKGROUND —
HeatherAsh Amara’s Warrior Goddess Training coupled with her latest writing: The Warrior Goddess Way IS your dynamic duo to a healing journey of feminine mindfulness and self-acceptance.
— HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE BOOK —
Three of the Ten Sections in this book really resonated with me…
PART 1: THE WISDOM OF FORGIVENESS
Let it go!
By holding onto anger, grudges and sadness for an extended amount of time only robs “you” of happiness. I get it—you keep repeatedly telling yourself how much someone “wronged” you and that you have no intentions on “forgiving” them for what they did because whatever happened you feel it is unforgivable.
The problem with that is all of those messy emotions live inside of you. Unfortunately, by housing such thoughts and emotions, you unintentionally create an energy field that breeds negativity around your presence. The next time you ask of another to forgive you for something—it may not come so easy (karma).
According to the author, being forgiving DOES NOT mean you become a pushover (I cannot stress this enough). Instead, forgiveness is an active state of being. The ability to forgive bestows upon the forgiver a sense of self-power. Being able to forgive, learn from and move on means people cannot "control" your emotional state of being.
To me, this also means: Should I decide to forgive a person I must choose whether to continue the relationship or if its best to peacefully end it. While I will forgive someone—in no way does that imply that I’ll grant them repeated opportunities to cause me harm. The bottom line here is using wise judgment on a case by case basis. You know when its time to move beyond a situation.
If for some reason, you cannot face the person who has or is hurting you— You can still forgive them (from a distance). For your own sake, forgive yourself first and ask the universe to give you the strength to forgive others. Begin by repeating these words out loud to yourself UNTIL you believe it:
Yes! I deserve to be treated kindly
So, I forgive you for hurting me
But, I will not allow you to hurt me anymore
Thus, I release any ill-will and replace it with peace
From this moment, may I attract only goodness
And So It Is!
[The Warrior Goddess Way]: VALIDATE that someone has caused you pain. But also RECOGNIZE that it’s okay to be kind to yourself by forgiving them.
PART 2: AUTHENTIC AWARENESS
In this section, HeatherAsh outlines how most people identify “who they are” with the content of their minds, their feelings and the things they have experienced in the past.
Have you ever heard someone say, “this is how my parents did it—so I will do things in this manner as well.” “if it worked for them—it can work for me too” or “I turned out fine—so you should be okay as well”
Know this! It’s okay to be different. Look, listen and feel your inner-self deep within—Allow that person to come alive.
A power quote from the book reads, What we “think” will happen verses what we “allow” ourselves to experience are different in many ways.
When we “allow” ourselves to experience the essence of whom we are spiritually and go with the flow of our intuition—it is 100% emotionally liberating. But when we measure nearly every inch of our life with the same yardstick that showed us tough love we remain a caged bird afraid to explore our inner most intimate selves.
— HOW TO BECOME AUTHENTICALLY AWARE —
According to the author, habits of the mind—where your thoughts and expectations prejudge and predetermine your experience, or constantly whisk your attention away from the present or into the future are the areas that require refocusing.
Awareness—is the art of being “fully” present and acutely cognizant of what is happening in the moment—in other words, you witness what transpires in the outer world and take into account how you react to it.
Being aware teaches you about yourself (and that is how you learn who the REAL you is).
You are not whatever you do for a living
You are not the significant other your mate loves
You are not whatever hobby brings you pleasure
You ARE a spirit with flesh and mindful intentions
Living a “labeled life” that “symbolizes” who you think you are
Remove the labels to discover your true identity
PART 3: YES! RELATIONSHIPS
“It only takes one person to change your life—you”
Herewith, HeatherAsh speaks candidly to women about the Art of Receiving. Oftentimes, as women we believe it right to put others before ourselves (especially if you are a mother and wife), we want to be recognized for our service and exemplary works, keeping yourself busy and leaving time for nothing else except that of others. This can be exhausting after awhile leaving women feeling rundown, unappreciated and functioning on empty.
Make personal time for yourself. Spend quality time getting to know yourself. Treat yourself to something you love and DO NOT feel guilty about it! Before you can have rewarding companionship with others you must first “be able” to have a loving relationship with yourself—this does not mean being vain.
When you engage with others from a place of self-love, your relationships improve exponentially because you do not solely depend upon others for your own happiness. How beautiful it is!
— WHY THIS BOOK —
Have you ever heard someone complain and blame others for the reason they are suffering? It sounds like this:
Because of “you” — “I” am going through this
Because of “you” — “I” don’t have that
Because of “you” — “I” couldn’t achieve that
Look at yourself, say out loud [what exactly have “I” done to correct the course of action that has caused “me” this setback?], wait for a clear and excuse-free response.
The wisdom from the goddess way teaches us to communicate with ourselves in a healing manner and then listen for the answers within.
Whether you are a woman or a man, the messages inked on these pages will equip you to become more self-aware and in turn allows you to be more mindful in your relationships with others.
When you are self-aware it is easier to accept others for who they are and instead of trying to “change” people to be who you want them to be—you respect their individuality.
When you respect people’s right to be who they are – you alleviate self-propelled stress and relationship-anxiety.
When you only “expect” from people what they are “willing” to give—then you can build and maintain healthier engagements with others because the need for “dominant ownership” over who and how people (including your children) should be to please you has been removed.
Using The Goddess Way as a [blueprint], meet yourself where you are and either accept yourself or enhance what you do not like about yourself so that you can become the warrior goddess you were born to be!
Helps “you”, “me”, and others to STOP making excuses, STOP blaming others, STOP wanting more than what people can give at the moment and START taking ownership of ourselves so that we can LEAD by healthy examples.
