5.0 out of 5 starsWatching the playboy Sterling fall in love is nothing short of perfection. Loved this book! <3
Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2016
Sterling and Camryn have mutual friends. They’ve met before and they were in a wedding party together for their mutual friends. From the moment they met, the attraction between the two of them has been intense, but Sterling is a player and has no interest in settling down and he knows that Camryn deserves better than a one night stand. After heating up the dance floor at the wedding, they go their separate ways, both very frustrated, but for different reasons.

Strange circumstances bring Sterling and Camryn back together. In order to claim a huge inheritance, Sterling must marry in the next 6 months. Camryn’s PR firm (owned by their mutual friends) has been selected to handle the process of vetting, meeting and arranging dates for Sterling and his potential brides.

When they meet face to face again, the insane chemistry is still there. Camryn tries her best to stay professional, but the pull towards Sterling is relentless. Also extremely persistent is Sterling’s determination to gain Camryn’s trust, get to know her better and hopefully get her into his bed before he has to settle down for good.

They share some dinners, drinks and good conversation, but Camryn is determined to stay as detached as possible, since she knows this can only end in heartbreak for her. Sterling however has had a change of heart, deciding that if he’s stuck getting married anyways, it might as well be to someone he is wildly attracted to and enjoys spending time with. Sterling diverts his efforts from meeting a stranger to marry, to wooing Camryn into seeing the potential in a relationship with him.

Watching the playboy fall in love is nothing short of perfection and watching Camryn try to resist their attraction is painful. These two belong together, they just need to get out of the way and let fate take over.

Can Sterling convince Camryn to take a chance on him? Will Camryn be able to trust that Sterling won’t break her heart? What happens when the inheritance deadline finally arrives? Will Sterling choose love or money? Or will he find a way to have it all?

Extremely sexy love story with incredible chemistry between Camryn and Sterling. Sweet and heartfelt moments throughout the story as well and a very happily ever after ending.

Standalone. No cliffhanger. Told in alternating, dual POVs.

2.0 out of 5 starsGreat Chemistry Poor Execution
Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2018
POSSIBLE SPOILERS:
It’s a common theme, alpha needs to get married within a certain amount of time to collect massive inheritance and with a HEA. I don’t have a problem with the theme it’s the absurdity of the details of this story. Sterling needs to get married, so his uncle hires a PR firm to find him a match. Shouldn’t a matchmaker have been hired (or has that been done to death?). The only stipulation is to get married within six months to get the money. Nowhere does it state it has to be someone found by a matchmaker or PR firm. Why couldn’t they entertain the notion of Camryn? The author never really gives a reason why. The chemistry between Sterling and Camryn is top notch, but the whole mess with Anna was unnecessary. The text and details specifically related to the line of thinking for actually matching Sterling with someone is quite muddled. At the end of the book (end of the six month mark) Camryn questions for a moment if Sterling will think she’s doing this for the wrong reasons. At this point after everything they’ve been through, this thought shouldn’t even exist.

Tpagirl Loves Romance
3.0 out of 5 stars Lighthearted and fun!

The Fix Up was a stand-alone by Kendall Ryan.

The storyline premise ensured it was a lighthearted plot - playboy bachelor gains a millionaire inheritance as long as he marries. Females of all ages come out of the woodwork to gain his attention for the position.

Sterling Quinn was said bachelor. He was a well known New York divorce attorney, gorgeous and famous for hook ups - casual sex, nothing serious. He was confident, arrogant and commitment adverse.

Camryn Palmer was a New York Public Relations Executive. She was also tasked with developing and executing a plan for Sterling’s newfound mandate.

Sterling and Camryn met through mutual friends. They had always been attracted to each other but remained distant until now when they began working together. Ryan took us through the attraction and their attempts to keep it platonic.

In the end, The Fix-Up was lighthearted, and some what predictable but fun and entertaining as well. It was the perfect book to read in between dark or serious themes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Maybe I interpreted the blurb wrong

For some reason, I just feel like this one was lacking. Or maybe it's that my expectations were different.
Based on the blurb, I expected the characters to have been friends for a while and the male just decided to finally act or show interest. That wasn't the case here.
Though the story line was good, it had passion and highs and lows... it just didn't have a spark for me. I didn't get sucked in like I usually do with Mrs Ryan's novels.

Book Nut
3.0 out of 5 stars Not great, didn't enjoy.
Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2019

First off, it was a weak premise with the whole having to get married in six months. And their attraction went from superficial lust to love in about a millisecond, which is not a favorite tactic of mine. Second, the dude was a jerk from start to finish. Not in a good way. But it's okay apparently because he's got a sexy accent and likes to perform certain acts.
Finally, my biggest pet peeve was that him being British served no purpose except to give him an accent. However, it made little sense since he'd been living in the USA for about 20 years. Sure, might have a bit of an accent but he certainly wouldn't be using all the British slang. All it did was annoy me.
These are mostly personal opinions. If these things don't bother you, then great. Read on. Other than the weak, shallow characters and wafer thin plot, it was at least edited well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun story!

Not my favorite by Kendall Ryan but was still a fun and quick read. The story line (although obviously pretty far fetched) is fun and the banter between the man characters pulled its weight. There were of course some pretty good sex scenes and overall I enjoyed the story. The only thing that irked me a little was that there were points in the story were there were time gaps were the author just tells us briefly what has happened and we have not really been apart of it (especially at the end). It was a little disjointed and threw me out of the feeling of the story a bit but again it was still a fun, quick and sexy story that I did enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Fix Up is not a bad story but neither was it great

The Fix Up is not a bad story but neither was it great. I really wanted some more background on the characters. Some of the minor characters were also boring and made no sense especially the heroine's "so called" friend who throws her hat in the competition knowing how the heroine felt about the hero.

The sex was steamy but I have read better. I am also getting a bit annoyed with some of these books only having a point of view format for the main characters. I would like on occasion to read a story that flows from chapter to chapter without this point of view business but that is just me.

This was a quick, entertaining, yet forgettable romance. I was engaged in the story and characters while it happened, but honestly, it was just a nice escape, but nothing I'd read again. It was just okay and entertaining, nothing special.

I didn't love it but I also didn't hate it. I just found it to be a bit slow. There really wasn't all that much going on threw out the whole story. It was just so back and forth I started to grow bored. ***Spoiler beginning*** Also in the description they were described as "friends" but that isn't true. They hardly knew each other. Another thing that didn't make sense for me was there was no guide lines for the marriage so I didn't see what the big issue was with him and Cami. The friends and family made it sounds like they could never be together but he could have picked anymore. Then there was Anna.... really? A 20yr friendship and she just ups and does that to Cami? Great friend. ***End Spoiler*** lol Overall I did like the idea of the story and the chemistry between the characters. They seemed to be good together besides all the bs. And it had a nice happy ending.

This is a story about a player who suddenly has an inheritance at stake unless he marries in 6 months, his best friends wife's friend is the woman hired to help him find a wife but he finds himself falling for her. The characters didn't have a lot of depth and well the whole story had hardly any depth. I couldn't relate to any characters because you don't really learn much about them besides how they feel about each other. I read it pretty fast but I have to say it was mostly boring.

Fun friends to lovers read. Cameryn and Sterling ( he's British) had a connection at their bffs wedding, but they didn't act on their impulse.
Fast forward a year later Sterling was told that he would inherit millions if he got married in 6 months, Cameryn's pr frim is going help him navigate all the craziness that will ensue. Do they fall for each other in the process?, of course they do .
