Well, Well, Well, another self help book? The only reason I even looked at it was because it had a nice cover and was under a couple hundred pages. So, I quickly discovered it wasn't just another self help book. It's a interactive journey that Miss Rath doesn't waste any time jumping right into and getting the reader deeply involved. We all need mentors throughout our lives and Miss Rath takes on that challenge and provides some real purpose and guidelines on this journey called life. Has a interesting no age barrier in it's teaching as well. I'm thinking it would be a great source to read and study together in groups, couples, parents with young adult children, or independently. Nice work, keep it up,looking forward to MORE of your writings.
Kristin Rath has written a very accessible book and steps for creating your dream life. In today's busy world how often do we take the time to really consider what we truly want. I spent a hour this morning with this book doing some of the exercises and it brought real clarity and commitment to me and my goals. Plus it is beautifully written! A great addition to your reading library and your life.
Speaking as a professional procrastinator, jumping into a project is always easier said than done. But this reading this book is like putting on your favorite pair of comfortable slippers. We are all already familiar with the ideas in this book, but the way in which Ms. Rath has organized and presented them is truly encouraging. The ease of the exercises and the calm, concise writing style provide firm guidance without the in-your-face pushy & preachy that some self-help books offer. I will definitely return to this roadmap many times throughout my ongoing journey!
I loved the cover, and was captivated by the words inside; “this book is for Dreamers who are meant to be Dream Doers”. It is for people who are not content with their present life and wish to make changes. The author shares parts of her own journey and provides readers with a roadmap for theirs. The book is well structured with captivating chapter headings, and there are practical checklists and exercises included. It is written in a fresh and delightful conversational style. I felt the sincerity and support of the author, almost as if she was there with me. This is important because personal change and growth can be a most personal of journeys that can present potholes, roadblocks and detours along the way. Yes, there is even a chapter about those. There is a link to the author’s website to access some useful forms and also to an audio file of the author reading the introduction. That really sets the tone of the book and is well worth listening to. I will be adding this book to a ‘recommended reading’ list in my own books.
Common sense isn't always common practice. This book takes a tremendous amount of putting common sense into practice to live a more ideal life. Don't mistake common sense for lack of power. This book, when used as a guide to a better life, will empower one beyond your current limitations or status quo.
Kristin has taken the personal development subject and turned it into an easy to implement process. If you know you are meant for more and are an action taker grab a copy of this book. Then apply apply apply all of the exercises in the book.
This book is written in an easy to read and personable style that makes it a pleasure to read and enjoy. It's concise and half the size of most books in this genre and yet has a lot of powerful information. If the reader will take the time to actually do the exercises as recommend, they will come away with a new and clearer vision of where their life is now and where they want to take it. I recommend this book to anyone looking for find your passion so you can live your purpose.
I found this book not only helpful, but an enjoyable read! An easy manner, and light conversational tone made me feel open to the material...not self-judged by hard and fast rules of how I should behave and feel. It is well organized, concise and really useful tool for a personal hiatus from the usual mind-grind!
I highly recommend it for those new to exploring self-help manuals, and those who have already explored various disciplines and are in need of a refresher course to jump start the next phase of their personal journey. Thanks Kristin Rath!
This is a lovely and very practicable book. A fun book. It offers suggestions on how to determine your goals in life, and in essence, define who you are, what you stand for, and how to envision and attain your desired future while living in the now. I really enjoyed the walk down memory lane with my goals, delving into what makes me tick and what drives me forward. I particularly liked the chapter on affirmations. And the go-to mood booster kit chapter. And finding your tribe chapter. Great book, Ms. Rath. Well done!
Kristin Rath’s book, Meant For More, inspires all “dreamers” ----and that includes most of us----to set aside the necessary time to honestly review our own lives “as is” and take that next big step to become the “doers.”
OK, most of us dreamers are unlikely to become the next famed scientists, like Einstein or Edison; and few will attain top athlete or musician star status…..but there is NO reason, as Rath encourages, that each of us cannot pursue our dreams, and thus rise to our potential, to become the “doers” and achieve our best in this non-linear journey called “life.”
Meant for More provides the roadmap to do exactly that: dream big throughout life; understand the dreams; and then transform, without fear of failure, as many of those important dreams into reality…usually that takes persistent hard work…and live the joyful life you deserve.
This book tackles many of life’s apparent and some not- so-apparent roadblocks that may continue to keep us from staying true to our dreams. Rath engages her readers, as a friend would, taking us on an introspective journey from the first page through to the last, inspiring us to crack our own, often self-imposed, “glass ceilings” and achieve our “meant for more” lives.
I think the book stands on its own merits but the added valuable self-appraisal exercises amp up the rewards that await its readers as they work on clarifying what’s really important in their lives.
I recommend this easy-to-read book to those, who are not satisfied with the “same ol’, same ol’” and are determined to rise to new, joyful directions in life.
As Meant For More ended, I found myself wanting more chapters to read; but then I realized it was time, and now my purpose, to fill in the details of my own life!
This book could have been titled “How to become the hero in your own life”….
I read this book in several hours but found myself revisiting it often while reflecting upon my own life.
Rath’s book “Meant for More” is not just for anyone; rather it is for everyone who has ever felt “is that all there is” in their lives. I think that includes nearly everyone at various stages throughout life. This book is needed more by some than others; but everyone can gain from it. I know I did!
We are all here on earth for such a short time. There is no reason not to live a joyful life, knowing at life’s end that you did all you could to achieve more, despite life’s continual adversities and challenges. This book helps its readers learn how to constantly sculpt life, to clarify and tinker with it to discover how your life can be “meant for more.”
I found Rath’s insightfulness encouraging and her writing style engaging. Rath takes her readers on a journey as a personal life coach would. At the end of the book, I found myself becoming my own personal life coach, which may be the true purpose of this book. Rath guides her readers, providing the necessary structure for re-purposing and maximizing life; and then she let’s go as any mother bird does when it’s time for the progeny to leave the nest or birdcage.
Many thanks to the author for gifting readers with how to become the hero or heroine of their own life.
