I like the females in these books but they seemed to ...

This is more of a review of the books up till now. I have read all these books including this one. Will be reading Rangers book next. The books were enjoyable but short reads. But did find as the books continued into the series I was starting to get put off by how the women just caved in to all the mates wishes. I like the females in these books but they seemed to loose their backbone. I think the males would rather see their mates be hurt rather than defend them selves. I am looking forward to the next book since the female is a stronger character. Now with this book the only problem I have is the pregnant women just lay around in a pillow puddle and let the other females wait hand and foot on them. Wonder if they wipe their own tushes. But liked the rest of the book.

This is the forth book in this series and they should be read in order. This is a novella to go along with the books but should be read in order as book 4. There is nothing more important to a shifter than their mate. Talon loves his mate more than ever now that she is pregnant with their cub. When Talon’s mother falls ill right around the same time their cub is due he is torn between where he should be or who he should tend to more. Then there realize something otherworldly has been hanging around the pack, but not just the pack his mate in particular. How much more can Talon take? I feel for Talon during this book. The birth of his cub should be a joyous time a time where he can be there for whatever his mate needs but instead he is facing the possible death of his mother. Plus there are surprises for some of the other pack mates. I am impatiently waiting for the next book in this series. I do believe I have found another favorite author through this series.

So we finally reach the moment for the birth of Talon and Liberty's child. However, there is a lot that happens in such a short amount of time. We find out more about what is going on with the "Community". Pay attention though because the storyline is getting real deep and this book helps build what is coming. I read this pretty quick and after reading I had to take a step back to reign in my emotions. What a great little story. I am excited to read the next story.

The title holds a double meaning and is perfect for this book. Talon became the alpha for his pride following the death of his father. But he's never had to experience everything that being the alpha entails. His feelings and emotions (happiness, anger, calmness) affect the whole pride. Talon faces his first challenge as alpha when he awaits the birth of his firstborn child, and the decline of his mother.

This is a quick but beautiful read. You can feel the love between Talon and Liberty, and the family dynamics and closeness of the pride. One of things I really loved about this book in the series, is the evolving change in the way the women of the pride are treated. The pride cherishes their women; so much so, that they are protected, with a sense of "let the man do it." That has worked in the past, but with new dangers and times, one previous incident is encouraging a new way of thinking, and I can't wait to see how the writer will allow this to develop. 5-stars!

The Lion King got it right

Ok, so I know it's cheesy but the Lion King was right with the whole circle of life thing.
The Birth of an Alpha got it right too, but that doesn't make it any less sad.
Not only do we have 3 pregnant panthers, one ready to go into labor any moment, but there is still the threat from outside the Pride and something freaky going on with the Sheriff.
Liberty is such a great mate for Talon she's so strong and Talon may be the Alpha but with Liberty he is just a bossy puddle of goo.
We get to see how the Alpha picks the Guardians of the pack in this story and the Pride also sees that maybe their thinking toward the females of the pack is a little out dated.
In the end the Pride loses a great member, gains a new member to the Alpha's family, and finds out what's so freaky about the sheriff. I'm excited to see the future with the Pride and can't wait for the next book.

(CONTAINS SPOILERS) This is the fourth book in this series and I not only loved the storyline, just as I have for the 3 previous books before it but this one really pulled on my heartstrings. The birth of the Alpha's child and the love, support and protection shown by the entire Pride, as well as Talon and Liberty was truly beautiful! Finding out about the Sheriff and what he truly is was an awesome twist and shock to the storyline. I knew something was up with the Sheriff but NEVER expected him being an angel or watcher. What had me crying hysterically, was the passing of Talon's mother......😢 I love that Evie is getting better and stronger by being allowed to train and learn how to defend herself and not be expected to have to rely on a Guardian or Kye to always protect her. This was another GREAT read and yes, I would and have already recommended!!!

I just can't get enough of these stories.....I swear, I think I've read them all at least a dozen times each. This book, book 4, mainly focuses on the Alpha mates Talon & Liberty (from book 1) as they await the birth of their baby (cub). The other couples (from books 2 & 3) make appearances, as does the town Sheriff (huge shocking reveal made about the Sheriff, can't wait for more about that), Evie & Kye (absolutely LOVE these two). But as one shifter comes into the world, sadly, one leaves as well....leaving the entire pride to grieve the huge loss. The ending sets up Ranger's story in book 5....can't wait!! Oh, a little message to the author....please, please, please give us Evie & Kye's story soon because I'm gonna have a nervous breakdown if I don't find out soon if they are mates or not.....I REALLY hope they are. Anyway, great book, great series....always 5-star reads.
