Please, for the love of everything that is holy. If you are going to delid your CPU, don't get any of these cheap 3D Printed delidders. Just bite the bullet, spend the money, and get a quality product. The threads on this are absolutely spot on and it makes the whole process so much easier than it was for us back in the day when we would have to carefully maneuver a razorblade under the IHS. I'm so happy Der8auer is making the products he is. Using this along with Conductonaut Liquid Metal on the die and Kryonaut as my normal thermal compound has dropped my temps by over 20 degrees on my overclocked i7-8700k. This is with my even bumping the overclock by another 300 MHz, I went from a 4.8 all core OC to 5.1 and after 15 min of Aida64 my temps didn't break 65C.

This product makes delidding very approachable. I used it on my 8700k for great results. I was temperature limited at 5.1GHz (88C) and after delid max temp changed to 67C, so a 21C drop! It also enabled me to up my OC to 5.2GHz with a max temp of 77C.

I first purchased the Rocket 88 and it was warped, but I did not notice until I used it. I tried fixing it but the plastic was too stiff. I returned it and the mfg of Rocket shorted me on the return because, "strange so many people return these after one use". Yes, despite being defective, obviously so, I was accused of abusing Amazon's return policy. So I demanded a full refund from Amazon, which I got, then purchased the der8auer. Much better than the Rockey 88!

Works exactly as advertised, My I7 7700K was hitting 100°C and throttling at slightly over stock speeds. I definitely got a bad application from factory looking back. I used this and and delided in about 5 minutes, I applied some liquid metal and now my temps under the same load at higher speeds rarely hit 80°C now. It was my first time deliding a processor but it’s super simple. A few YouTube tutorials, this tool, a stiff plastic card I used a old credit card ( for scraping the old silicone off), some nail polish to keep the liquid metal off of conductive things under the IHS and some high temp gasket maker to to seal things back up. If I can do it I know you can. My only complaint is that I don’t have any more CPU’s to use this on. Lol

Just used this yesterday, and it works as simply as the creator said it would on his YouTube channel. The 8700K was a piece of cake to delid, and the jig is designed so there's no real danger of hurting your CPU. The tool is well manufactured with tight tolerances, and the re-lid clamping mechanism and insert to re-center the lid work flawlessly. Well thought out and executed design!

I used the der8auer Delid Die Mate 2 to delid my work cpu and it works great! It's well thought out from form to function. Everything from the delid to resealing the IHS was smooth.

Intel seems to use quite a bit of sealant on the IHS.

I used thermal grizzly between the processor and the IHS. Loctite was used as a sealant for chip and IHS (1 small drop on each of the 4 corners rated for high temps). Then I used arctic silver thermal paste between the IHS and cpu fan.

Unfortunately, I didn't have any software installed pre-delid to track the thermal readouts:( I use an i5 7500.

The process was very easy and straight forward with no previous experience.

I got 5GHz at 65°C max plus a very, very silent rig.
Used Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut (for the heat spreader) and default EVGA 280 CLC paste (for the exterior of the IHS).

It works great. This is the best kit for deliding CPU. It is extremely easy to use. It is safer than plastic tools or tools printed on 3D printers. Do not ever use plastic tools to delid a CPU because you will damage your processor and render it useless. This tool is the only safe way if you have to delid your CPU. you cannot go wrong here. The best tool ever.

Works like a charm. High build quality and very little risk of harming your processor (with this device). Extremely simple to use. Just note the orientation of the IHS before removing it, carefully clean off all the old sealant, replace the factory TIM with your TIM of choice and use a high quality silicone sealant when you reinstall the IHS. I used an automotive gasket sealant from Permatex. If you decide to use a liquid metal TIM make sure to tape off the die and coat the PCB with conformal coating to avoid shorting out the CPU.

Well built, works nicely. Delidded old 7700k and upgraded “paste” to liquid metal. 20C cooler immediately and able to crank up the overclock to 51 and 104 BCLK (5.3ghz) and it’s (amazingly) solid in 24hr stress tests @ 1.4v and max 83C temps. Runs X-Plane much better than former OC to only 4.8Ghz. Yeah, at that voltage it’s life will be shortened, but it’ll be time to replace the 2017 rig next year - better to burn out than fade away...
