How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

4.0 out of 5 starsMistakes in the audio version, narrator doesn't change her voice for different characters.
Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2016
I just started this book today in the mp3 audio version. It's narrated by Delilah. The first word she says is wrong - she says "Linda Goetz" but it's obviously supposed to be Lydia (based on the material that follows). Is there no quality control for the audio versions?

I listen to audio books daily on my commute, and always appreciate when the narrator will change up their voice for different characters. It really helps to bring them to life and keep them straight when it's not so easy to glance back to re-read quickly if you lose your spot. Delilah does not change her voice for different characters, which is bothersome. I'd rather have a no-name narrator who will read me a good story than have Delilah chirping in my ear in the same tone I hear every night on the radio. Maybe this is a personal preference, but I'd suggest reading this one in a text version if you're considering the audio.

I am normally a big fan of Debbie Macomber books but this one, I have to say, was not one of my favorites. I lover her characters and all the shops on Blossom Street after reading several of her books they are like old friends. But I didn't enjoy the way this book skipped around from character to character, each telling their own tale. To me it was a bit confusing and broke up the continuity of the story. It did not flow well.

This is not to say I won't read more of the Blossom street series, just hope the next one is not written like this one was.

Each time that I finish reading Debbie Macomber’s book collections, I get sad because I will miss the characters. Until I start reading a new collection, then, I immediately fall in love with the new characters. Blossom Street is above and beyond all of the other series. Debbie M. is an outstanding writer.

I really loved this book, thought I had finished the set so this was a great surprise to find I had missed one. Fun in spots and a great story line. If you like clean romance and a happy ending this is a great book for you. This was well edited and flowed smoothly.

The characters are all interesting and could have books just on their lives, but mixed together make for a much better read. I started the Blossom Series out of order and now enjoy playing catch up. Learning more about the character mentioned throughout the series. I really enjoyed the dynamic storyline of this book. What a great idea having a knitting class to stop something. It does not matter what, just a desire to quit. With all of the kitting books it makes me miss the Seattle and want to knit. Ready for another Blossom Street page turner.

Debbie Macomber has another hit novel. I have been reading Macomber for many years and have never been dissappointed with her stories. She is heartfelt, a bit mysterious and her characters are very relatable.

It made me feel good that Brad was not my husband. With all his unfinished projects, we wouldn't have made it close to the sixty years our marriage lasted!

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT SUMMER READ
Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2009

Summer on Blossom Street by Debbie Macomber is a great summer read, light and fanciful. Each character that joined Lydia Goetz at her shop, A Good Yarn, for her class, Knit to Quit, had problems that were real and compelling and they learned from Lydia that "while our hands are at work on a project, we're able to quiet our thoughts." Good advice for anyone. There are lots of surprises that bring both laughter and tears, which were in abundance as each story ended. If you enjoy happy endings, this book is for you. It was the first time I've read her and I'm now a big fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars I thought this was a really good story. It shows how life
Reviewed in the United States on July 23, 2014

I thought this was a really good story. It shows how life, and love happen. We are not always looking for things in our life, they just happen. Some times in life we need to go in a different direction. Because Anne Marie thought of others, she change the life of a little girl. Because of that, she got a lot out of life that she wanted. The idea of making a list was great. Maybe we all should do that.
