Boring and not up to Sandford's standards

This is a follow-up to an earlier kindle typed review. Sandford's Virgil Flowers books are generally filled with humor and bright and interesting characters. This novel smacked of a writer rushing to meet a deadline. Virgil went back to a place he had already been, rehashed a previous case, and generally stumbled his way into the solution. Usually, it takes a while for Virgil to truly apply detective methods in order to determine the criminal, but this was known from the outset, and the solution was presented like a Christmas gift to him early in the book. Unfortunately, the latest Lucas Davenport book was just like this. A rehash of old characters and minimal plot development. Mr. Sandford, please don't end up like WEB Griffin or Laurell Hamilton. After a while, their books just became repetitive, boring and not worth purchasing.
