Having so enjoyed the first two books in this series I looked forward to finding out more about The Oracle, who has played a pivotal role so far in these books, and the woman whom fate has in store for him.
O is a wonderful character, he has so many facets, he's weird, intense, serious but can also be laid back and flippant. One of his wings was shredded in the last battle so in human form he has come to earth to rest and try and find the human who can help them to defeat the King. But his power for visions and prophecies is not working as it used to, he keeps getting sidetracked, he keeps seeing a beautiful woman in his dreams. A red-headed woman whom he likes to drop in on sometimes. He doesn't know her, but when he sees her it makes happy.
Melanie has been having strange dreams, she sees and interacts with a handsome man, a man she feels drawn to. Mel's hard working with a fun-loving attitude. She has a son Ike, who is eleven-years-old and they are on their way to take a vacation. Singing along with the radio, having fun until a tyre blew on the car in front of them causing it to zig-zagged all over the road. Mel managed to get past it, out of danger, stopped and walked back to see if the driver was all right. When he turned to her, she was shocked to see the man she had been dreaming about/with who after looking at her and Ike told Ike that he had met his mom in dreams and that he was an Oracle!
As he had never driven a car before he had no idea how to change a tyre so Mel tried to tell him how to do it but as she reached out to help him with the jack, she experienced visions of them together, he smiled and told her that he had also experienced it. Mel was horrified, Ike wasn't in those visions but O said she needn't worry all would be well.
Then O abandoned his car and joined them in theirs. O and Mel are a perfect couple, so playful in almost everything they do which makes the most intense moments less stressful. And there are numerous stressful moments in the funny, exciting well-written tale. O is an intriguing funny and odd character but Mel and Ike just accept him as he is.
I loved the humour in this book! When Mel, Ike, and O met, I could not stop laughing. O was so open and honest, telling them exactly who he was. They, of course, wanted proof. You could feel the love and respect Mel and Ike had for each other and O fit right in.
Will he continue his search for the man who would save the dragon realm by defeating the king? Will he walk away from Mel and the connection they both feel? No more spoilers from me, listen to this one yourself, you will not be disappointed.
Meghan Kelly again does a great job in narrating the story bringing every single character to life beautifully.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
