Great resource for baby-led weaning families

I'm a dietitian working full-time in baby-led weaning and use this book all the time and recommend to my students. Aileen has wonderful recipe ideas that the whole family can enjoy. If you're cooking in the US you will have to make some calculations to get our measurements but wonderful recipe ideas & can't recommend enough!

If I could give this 20 stars then I would! An amazing Mum with wonderful food ideas. I LOVE this cookbook and we genuinely make and enjoy meals for the family!

The Baby-Led Feeding Cookbook is a helpful prompt to those already feeding this way or those mummies who want to start, with quick recipes to follow and lots of the same, versatile ingredients (so you don't have to buy new ingredients for each recipe!) I do online food shopping, so anything I don't have to make something for the following week's dinner I can easily add to the list.

As someone who's been attempting babyled weaning for three months without much direction, it felt daunting and I lost inspiration to cook whilst scrawling online for ideas! Hence wanting to choose a recipe book for inspiration.

The Baby-Led Feeding cookbook focuses on "the good stuff", I love the layout, the recipes are easy so that even I can do them (and I'm normally an awful cook!) I freeze portions and heat them later. I love it!

The personal introduction by Aileen Cox Blundell, along with pages of helpful tips about fussy eaters, personal stories of Aileen's feeding experiences with her own children and her advice on how to make baby led feeding effective make this book the perfect companion to anyone wanting to feed their children good food with little fuss.

It was worth every penny.

Great ideas but didn't really work for us

I've done BLW before and was hoping to get some new ideas of different things to cook so tried this book, of the five recipes I made none of them tuned out as expected and I found that I needed to tweak them or look online for a tried and tested version of the same thing. Disappointed I returned this book but one recipe I did persist with tweaking was the veggie bread and this has been a firm favourite in our house and I've gone back to using the River Cottage book instead

We are a healthy eating family with fairly broad culinary horizons. We both love cooking and my husband is a chef. And yet, the book was a bit of a revelation for both of us. It showed us how to cook things we wouldn't dare cook for our baby daughter. It showed us how to squeeze every bit of nutritional value wherever possible while still keeping things yummy and easy to handle for the little hands. We have tried more than 90% of the recipes in this book (purchased it last summer) and our daughter disliked ONE of them. I genuinely think that had it not been for this book, her first few months of solids would not have been such an enjoyable (and nutritious!) experience. I'd recommend it to any parent thinking of BLW.

This book is fantastic. The recipes are suitable for family meals and for first finger foods which is what I wanted after finding most baby led feeding books to be geared mostly to babies and not the whole family. One meal equals a happy mama and a happy baby! The recipes use ingredients which you’d mostly have in your cupboard so are straightforward enough to put together at short notice. An excellent development on this author’s website.
