Battery contact leads were missing, couldn't charge
Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2020
I bought this product from Amazon directly, it was listed in "Used - Very Good" condition. Upon first inspection, the battery looked fine, it was genuine Sony product. However, when trying to charge it, I noticed that the battery light on my charger would flash rapidly. According to the Sony documentation for their charger , lights flashing quickly indicates a problem with the battery connection. When I went to inspect the metal contact terminals, I realized the positive and negative leads were essentially missing, thus the battery couldn't charge.
See the pictures attached -- the first picture is the faulty battery, the second picture is from a normal battery for reference (you can clearly see the 3 contact terminals present)
Really disappointed that Amazon didn't even bother with actually ever testing this battery with a multimeter or even a closeup inspection when they decided to list it as 'very' good condition. There's no way for the contact terminals to just "fall out" during shipping either.
