We use this for backyard volleyball and the surface is supple and firm enough to not leave arms and wrists red and stinging, but still send the ball over the net. The bright green color also makes for nice contrast on bright days when trying to find the ball in nearby bushes, etc. We take it to the beach as well and it's gotten plenty of use. No issues with rips, tears, or scuffs and it continues to hold air well. Highly recommended!
My daughter has been bugging me for a vollyball she can play with at the park across from our house. She has dreams of joining the schools team next year so her and her sister are out there a few times a week playing with different sports stuff. She has been playing with this for about two weeks and it is already splitting. Because of this, I do not recommend this for more than just casual park and play use. I really had hoped it would last her throughout the summer but it doesn't seem like it will.
This Wilson freestyle is a bright (yellow and green) volleyball that comes in an official size and weight. It’s made of synthetic leather, which is not as long-lasting or durable as the real thing, but this does a fair job of providing that leather feel. Quality stitching and Wilson-level buoyancy make this a solid, low-cost option for beginners or social games. The needle point for inflating is well camouflaged, without a rubber outer button, but is still identifiable. This is a solid piece for hours of entertainment.
I got this ball for my daughter but it seems to be a bit different from the other volleyball balls we've purchased. The outer surface is fairly smooth and thus gives less grip. Also, while soft, it's not as soft as other balls so my daughter prefers other balls for that .
We've had it for a while now and, even after using it for some light soccer practice with my son, it still fully inflated and the outer shell does not show much wear so I think that durability is not a problem.
I'm really happy with this Wilson Volleyball. While its not pro sports quality, its a great volleyball for taking to the park or to the beach, which we did. It will certainly last for a year or two of "weekend warrior" use, which is all I expect from a volleyball. The bright color is not only fun, but also somewhat unique in that nobody was wondering if this was THEIR ball or MY ball. While it is synthetic, I am extremely pleased with the ball overall and feel its a good value.
My kids and I like to bump this ball around in the backyard. It gets used as a volleyball, but also as a kickball, soccer ball, and general playing around ball. Thus far, it has held up really well to all the abuse - including sitting in the yard through rain and sun.
The design is really attractive here - I like the green and yellow colors and style. Overall, it's a quality ball that the casual player or fan could definitely buy.
