5 Star Read - Very Dark Romance

Wow! I have been completely blown away by this book.
First, please be warned that this book deals in very dark and violent themes. If you are not a fan of those, then this is not the book for you. If however you like dark, violent, graphic, twisted and angst filled love then this is definitely the book for you.

Both Ceasar and Ashlyn are broken souls who come together to feed off of each other’s darkness. Although Ashlyn is forced to join Ceasar she realizes in the end just what he means to her. He struggles to understand just what she means to him and what just what he should do for her. This is not a sunshine and rainbows romance but the HEA is very fitting and true to the characters which makes this ending as perfect as it can be!

As this was my first Letisha Newton book, I’m looking forward to reading more from her.

Don't waste money on this one. The story is exaggerated and rushed. I wish I could give less than one star.

This book is truly dark. Heed the warnings. Caesar is not a hero. This book has no hero.

Ashlyn first meets Caesar when he comes to take her as payment for the drugs her brother stole. She is his captive until she is stolen away by people far worse than Caesar. The things this girl survives would make some people want to sleep with the fishes.

I'm not one to give spoilers so I will end my review here. Don't read this book if you have triggers.

This is a DARK Very Dark read with little to no light. It's good though if you like a DARK read so be warned don't click if that's not what you're prepared for. This was a great raw read I fully understood each character and I kinda wished it had gone on a little longer. In a way I'm going to miss them I even wonder how their dynamic will play out with a baby. I mean she was on antibiotics and that has been know to knock out birth control. I just knew that was the secret I really hoped it was. There should be a part two of them dealing with the darkness that consumes them and a baby. Whew! Now after this I need to read about some care bears, unicorns, and sunshine because hmm I feel all kinds of dirty!!!!

Wow this story takes dark and dirty to a whole new level.
Caesar is ruled by his past and is the ultimate alpha male. His actions are ruthless and he acts without remorse.
Ashlyn was dealt a cruel hand from a young age. Controlled by others she was never given a chance to make her own decisions.

The depths of darkness, sexual torture and brutality that bled through the pages had my heart racing and at some points I felt so dirty reading it that I needed a shower. Lol.

This is the first time reading this author and I read the book in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down so 8 will be seeking out all of this authors dark reads.

Still a love story, but this deliciously dark tale is chock full of the pitch black of human sexual darkness. This is a true dark romance as opposed to so many works and authors that claim this label. I loved Newton’s story, the couple, and the brilliant development of characters. Caesar and Ashlyn are broken, flawed people that you want to cheer for. The villains are fabulously depraved and inhuman, as dark as any of the blackest souls you’d want to hate and fear.

Not for the faint of heart, the sexual violence is extreme. For those seeking real dark romance, look no further. This is a good believable story and is well written. There are minimal typos, nothing too extensive or particularly distracting. This is not Ken and Barbie in a pretty, cliche’d fairy tale of hearts and flowers. I loved the grit, darkness, and reality of people whose lives were rough, terrible journeys.

I read one other of Newton’s books and this is my favorite, so far. I will definitely be reading more from this author and I am really looking forward to it.

WOW, this book! It torn me apart, ruined me, bruised me and will haunt me. It is dark... that warning is not a lie. It is every nightmare, every pain you can think of, written into a realistic, haunting story; yet it ends in the most satisfying way, with tears in my eyes and my heart full of love, as I had bonded with these characters.

This story has a great balance to it. Just when I though I needed to step awayfrom the darknees, the pain, the author would redeem a character, or give me hope. I wanted to save Ashlyn, I wanted to give her hope, but found myself wanting her to find that for herself.

What made this story so fantastic for me was the realistic nature of the characters reactions to the issues. So many times I read about awful things happening to female characters and they just brush it off like they are inhuman. Not in this story; Ashlyn has to fight to stay sane, to contiune to breathe, to find her hope. If I was in her position, I don't know if I would have continued to fight.

I have to give major props to this author. She has an amazing talent, and I have become a dedicated fan. If you can handle DARK, read this story, it was amazing!

Those broke me in the most beautiful way. Usually, I spend my Sundays reading, but after finishing Ms. Newton's book, I find myself at a loss as to what to do with myself. I can't start another book, because that seems like it would diminish Vanquish in some way, like the feelings it left me with would be less valid or something. I don't know how to explain it.

Nor do I know how to review it. This book disturbed me, sickened me, and horrified me. But in the most deliciously dirty, remarkable ways. This book, Caesar, and Ashlyn will be with me in the months to come. If you like dark romance, the kind that leave you with WTF written on your soul, you should definitely read it.

This was a great dark romance ( not your typical ). Read the warnings before diving in. If you have triggers this is not the place for you. I’ve read darker but definitely makes you cringe at times. That being said, I flipping loved how real an unapologetic Cesar is, he owns who he is and understands what she needs. Loved the ending .

It’s not for the faint of heart, but if you get through the first couple chapters you will want to finish it.
