Soft bits but excellent customer service

I’ve combed through tons of reviews on Amazon all complaining about cheap bits getting stripped on their first use to the point where I was almost in disbelief that it could be so common of an occurrence. I picked this product based on the positive reviews and LESS reviews mentioning stripped bits in comparison to others I was looking at.

Much to my disappointment, on the very first use my T6 stripped right away with no resistance.

The item I was using this on was a pocket clip on a folding knife for context.

Updating this product rating to four stars simply based on their excellent customer service. I was contacted shortly after my review and Syntus refunded my original charge, sent me a new replacement set and let me keep the used set.

Obviously, I don’t have much use for either set however just on principle this product deserves a good rating based on the company’s willingness to stand by their product if it fails.

T5 stripped after first use

I bought this set because it is an Amazon Choice and rated 4.6 out of 5 stars. But I am very dissatisfied with it because the T5 bit stripped after removing the 5th out of 8 torx screws on my Droid Turbo. So I couldn't remove the last two screws and then couldn't tighten them back in. At the time I thought the screws had stripped but after looking at the bit under a magnifier, I can see the coating came off on the tip and is rounded.

I got this to have a screwdriver set on my desk, and to give me the opportunity of easily unscrewing screws of various types. While it is great for these purposes, I've actually been using the socket/nut adapter the most.

The case is as shown, but a neat feature that may not be obvious is that the bits, and the grey parts containing them, go from parallel to perpendicular to the case, making it much easier to find the bit you need, extract, use, and then replace into the case. Keeping everything in the order delivered helps to more easily find bits of the same type, or of a larger version.

The screwdriver has a large area of magnetism, making it very easy to pick up various screws and components, while not appearing to be too strong as to damage anything that isn't too sensitive.

The rubber/flexible extender works surprisingly well and is a great bonus to an already awesome tool.

I decide to buy it without read reviews. My only reason to get it was MacBook Pro 15 retina fan clean up. The product has the worst quality I had in a screwdriver kit. I tried to be as gentle as possible and I could not even finish assembly my computer. It is ridiculous poor quality, it all twisted, looks like screw now. I am overseas now so I can't even return it unfortunately. Do yourself a favor, get something else. Now I need to find out a place where I can get the pentalobe to close my MacBook Pro properly. In US it is easy, not in Brazil.

This set is ten times better than I was expecting. I use it for working on small electronics and radio control trucks and boats. It is holding up very well, it is well organized and easy to find what you need. I honestly don’t think I could have bought a better set without spending over $100. It really is that good for dealing with small and uncommon screw and bolt types. It even has a little button that stands the bits up on an angle to make them easier to choose from and pick up, then collapses so it is still very compact. I have yet to encounter a tiny fastener that this didn’t have the driver for. My recommendation is to buy this and have it in your drawer for those tiny items that we might otherwise throw away. It would make a great gift for anyone who likes to tinker and fix phones, glasses, RC cars, pocket electronics, or the like. I am only writing this review because it’s that good. I didn’t get mine free, nor was I offered any compensation for my review. It really is just such a nice set that I felt I owed the other picky analytical shoppers like myself a time saving statement that they should stop shopping, and just buy this set before it is not available or triples in price. It’s quality and a surprisingly low price. Exactly what I always try to find when shopping!

Bought this screwdriver set to replace an old set that had stripped some heads. Bought it mostly because of the hardened tips.

Using this to fix my laptop, it was very easy and comfortable on the hands. The driver spins freely and with little friction. It's fairly ergonomic and made of metal, which may help on durability and longevity. The heads indeed seem hardened, fit the tiny screws very well (without extra space), and are very well organized and labeled on the box. The box itself is well designed and sturdy, having a latch for the lid, a latch that holds the heads laying down, and enough space for all the pieces securely down.

Pros:
1. Metal driver, free spinning.
2. Hardened tips.
3. Thoughtful box design.
4. Seems to be a good value and durable.

Cons:
1. None.

I just received this today and first off, right out of the box, the case to keep everything together is a bit disappointing. I know, it's just a case... But it's purpose is to keep everything in a convenient and easily accessable package. The exterior plastic case is ok. The insert is some crappy glorified thick cellophane-like garbage. Next, I'm checking out the torx security bits and 2 of the pin holes are off center and will not fit the screws. Another one doesn't have the hole drilled out at all. I'm curious to see if these are at least made of any quality tool steel. I guess time will tell. I'll update this further with actual use of the set progresses.

UPDATE
This company responded right away to ensure that I had received a good set of tools. I only wanted the bits that were defective and they sent a whole new set. This set is superior in comparison to the previous one. Stephy was very helpful and quick to make sure I was happy with my order. I would recommend dealing with her in the future. Awesome job Stephy! This is one of the best sets of tools I’ve bought in a long time. So much versatility in such a small set of tools. I love it! And, the box that houses all the bits...kicks ass! There’s a little button you push, and all the bits pop upward, making it easier to remove and reinsert the bits, then just push down on the aisles of bits and they fold down into a locked position...so cool! The quality of the bits seem good; but time will tell. The design of this kit is fantastic. The bits seem strong and sharp. The other pieces are very helpful, especially the flexible shaft to get at screws in tight spots. There was a lot of thought that went into this kit. They included a product information card, that suggests that I register the purchase with their company for an extension of 6 months to their 12 month warranty, making it 18 months. By then, I should know the real quality of the S2 steel used in the bits.

This is a great purchase if you work on electronic devices. I purchased it because I needed a special security torx to fix a microwave....I’m so glad I did!

I have used this this with 3 notebooks, 2 video cards, iphone, no stripping or any other problems.

I wonder if the customers that are complaining about the bits getting stripped, bought another driver set and removed the screw without any problems? To judge this set without doing so is really baseless.

For $15 this set delivered to your door in less than 24 hours and then give a 1-star review for a bit getting stripped makes me wonder if the reviewer does such high quality work that they get-5 stars for everything that they. Very doubtful. If anyone beyond their teenage years gave a 1-star review you should probably start looking at the bigger picture of life.

Maybe you are the problem. Did you try applying heat first? I would rather have the bit strip than the screw.

Kudos to Syntus for a quality product at a very low price.

I wish we could rate other A-0 reviewers in detail.

Strong tips that don’t chip or strip

Just what I needed! As with most kits, you only really need one or two screw tips for a specific job but you buy a kit because you don’t know exactly which one you need and you don’t want to go back and forth buying and returning until you finally get what you need. And sure enough, this kit had the two tips I needed to disassemble a laptop and extract a hard drive.

Some of the tiny screws in the laptop were in pretty tight and these tips were tough enough to pry them loose without stripping the screws or chipping off pieces of the tips themselves. I think that speaks pretty well of the quality of materials used as well as the manufacturing accuracy of the tips.

Very happy with this kit!
