Printed 79 (!!!) pages of normal things and it's already saying only 50% left. JUNK!

Soooooooo...don't use the fake toners right? Do the right thing and buy the real and expensive Canon 045s and I get rewarded with ridiculously low output.
I installed my new black cartridge on 4/11/20. As of today I have printed 79 pages of average stuff, probably 90% text, and a few pages also would have been in color anyway. I think there were a few UPS labels for Amazon returns, and while yes, a barcode is more dense than text, there is also far, far less text on the those pages so it is EASILY a push. I also think one PDF did have a small image of a refrigerator. None of this was full page images or pictures. Anyway, after 79 pages the cartridge is telling me it's at just 50% remaining. FIFTY PERCENT! What the heck? I know, and do, I can continue to print for a while after it gets to 10 or 0 percent remaining, but that's not the point. With my previous printer before this, a HP standard black toner lasted me 2+ years as I don't print much (this 79 pages in 2 months is an anomaly).
The life on my starter toners was EXTREMELY short compared to even the reduced figures they mention for the starter cartridges (the black is actually supposed to be a "real" normal one, the 3 colors are "starters"). I assumed this was an anomaly also. Guess I was wrong.
I like many things about my MF634, but this toner life is NOT one of them, among a handful of others, and will not recommend Canon laser to anyone anymore. This is all inexcusable. If I wanted this type of consumables bill I would have stuck with inkjet.
