Disappointing right out of the box
Reviewed in the United States on September 3, 2017
This product was disappointing right out of the box. The screen is not tempered glass, but flexible plastic. The dust removal stickers are tiny and don't stick. The "squeeze card" is cardboard. And fingerprints are obvious.
First thing I noticed is that the screen is not actually tempered glass. It's a flexible plastic. I purchased a tempered glass phone cover, which arrived the same day. Both products claim to be 9H hardness. I cannot bend the phone cover, but I can bend this. Clearly it is not 9H hardness. Definitely not glass.
The dust removal stickers are about the width of a pencil. Trying to use them on the screen leaves a fingerprint around them as im trying to remove dust. And the adhesive on them is not even sufficient, actually leaving dust behind. I opted for removing dust with packing tape instead.
The "squeeze card" meant to be scraped over the screen to remove bubbles, is made of cardboard. Removing micro bubbles requires a fair amount of force. Applying this force bends the card. I returned to the tools included with my phone cover to use their included squeeze card for this iPad cover.
Finding that the cover was not actually tempered glass, I almost returned it immediately. Having nothing else to protect my screen, I decided to give it a try anyway. I was not impressed by the supplied tools. The screen does have good clarity. However, it does not repel fingerprints. They are seen as clearly on this cover as they are on the bare screen.
Two stars because I didnt find the product damaged or defective upon arrival. I will try the screen cover with the iPad pencil to see how well it holds up against scratches. Given my experience thus far, I don't have high expectations. While I recognize that the product is not necessarily advertised as tempered glass, it certainly leads me to believe it is. And semantics does not leave a customer satisfied.
