4.0 out of 5 starsVery worthy mount. Only minor gripes.
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on March 4, 2022
This is a very good TV mount. I used it for a 65in LG OLED C1 TV which weights around 75lbs.

I had already owned a different full motion mount for my prior TV but given the required placement of the mount on that TV (much lower), I was going to have to move the old one anyway. The specs on that one suggested that it maxed out on a 60inch TV. I'm sure it would've worked but that other mount was somewhat tough to move when the TV was actually on it so I decided to get a new one. In comes the ECHOGEAR mount...

Everything needed for mounting was included. Especially important are the lag bolts for the portion that mounts to the wall. I don't believe I received those with the prior mount so that's an extra cost (and trip) to factor in for other mounts. Also appreciated the template provided. Instructions were clear, well written and entertaining. I really don't know why that is so hard for many companies but they could take a cue from ECHOGEAR on how to write instructions.

Overall, installing the mount was not difficult. The hardest part is just making sure you find studs in the wall and are relatively centered on them. And I guess holding the mount while installing the first couple of lag bolts. My installation has the TV located in a cutout over my fireplace -- i.e. a recessed nook. My TV is 57in wide, the cutout is about 59in wide so there isn't a lot of clearance on the sides. After mounting the brackets to the TV, I measured from the bracket hooks on the TV to the top and bottom of the TV to ensure I was placing it at the right height in the cutout. Marked the height in the nook, grabbed the template and marked where my lag bolts would go in. I pre-drilled the holes and then held up the mount while screwing in the lag bolts, making sure it was level along the way. After that, it's just a matter of extending the mount, setting the TV brackets on the front top of the mount and securing the bottom. As another reviewer stated, it's a good idea to tighten down the tilt mechanism prior to putting on the TV, it can always be adjusted later.

Overall, this could probably be done in about 20 minutes but I probably took an hour just to measure multiple times and think thru what I was doing. As I said, I only had about an inch clearance on either side so I was worried that my slightly off-center studs were going to make it very difficult. Based on where the holes in the backplate are and where my studs were located, the mount was an inch closer on one side then the other, so I was still worried about being centered. Turns out, that was all for naught -- while it's good to be as centered as possible, there is sufficient lateral movement in the mount to get the TV centered even if the mount isn't.

You might be asking, why only 4 stars? Well, I have a couple of small gripes. Some may be fair, some less so:

1. This mount moves easily, even with a 75lb mounted. Much, much better then my last one. I wanted this feature but now that it's mounted, I'm not as convinced I do. I only need the movement when first mounting it to pull the TV out, connect everything and then push the TV back into the cutout. After that, I'd prefer it didn't move again until I replace it. WIth this mount, if you touch the TV, it will move -- no real force needed. Given my minimal clearance on the sides and the fact that my TV is a thin piece of glass, I have minor concerns that I'm going to bounce it into the walls when cleaning. Hard to blame the mount for being too fluid but it's a thing.
2. The paper template is nice for marking your holes. My minor gripe there is that it's hard to hold a piece of paper against a wall, put a level on it and mark the spots for you lag bolts at the same time. Very minor complaint and there may be some trick to this that I'm missing but it would be lovely if some clever person came up with a solution to that -- like a thicker edge on the template.
3. Another minor complaint that may be more on LG then ECHOGEAR -- which screw should I use to mount the brackets to the TV? ECHOGEAR provides several different sizes with different lengths and widths. Ideally, you want to use the longest one that will fit in your TV. The problem is, that if you use one that is too long, you break your TV. If you use one too short, your TV may dismount prematurely. This is probably on the TV manufacturer to provide since I'm sure it varies. But a note in the instructions would be nice on how best to determine this. I struggled with this longer then I should have. For me, I took a medium length M10 bolt, attempted to thread it slowly and gently into the TV to see if it would fit all the way. It did, so I went with that. Could I have used a longer one? Perhaps, but we'll never know.
4. The last gripe is cost. My previous mount was about $50. This one was closer to $120. They are both equally heavy duty and built very similarly. This one has much more fluid motion so it's worth extra $$. But is it worth over double? Probably not. But given how much I spent on the TV, I'm not going to lose sleep over the cost of the mount but I feel like it would be a better value around $80 and that would have warranted a 5th star from me.

In summary, I listed gripes but the reality is that there are many more features of this mount that are good and it's definitely something I would purchase again or recommend to a friend. However, I would also have them watch to see if they could get it a little cheaper than list price.

3.0 out of 5 starsThe hype is fake.
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on January 26, 2023
To start off, I work in an engineering department at a local Las Vegas casino. Iโ€™ve personally wall mounted hundreds of TVs as a part of a hotel room upgrade. But when it came to personal domestic use, Iโ€™m was forced to go with different public vendors. So, like you, I purchased this highly rated brandโ€™s TV mount. I have an LG 77โ€ C2 OLED TV. Guess what, it took forever to level the TV and you know why? Well, because as soon as you extended the TVโ€™s wall mount all the way away from the wall after the TV had already been mounted and leveled, it became out of alignment and extremely out of level. Thankgully, I had someone to help me to level it. Basically, it involved a bunch if guess work. We had to compromise for the level of tilt/pull out distance in order for the TV to be leveled with the desired distance it was pulled away from the wall. In other words, if the TV was pulled away from the wall even by half an inch too far (where it was not centered with the wall at the measured middle point), it would no longer be leveled and would become off balance = visibly leaning to one side.
This mountโ€™s leveling mechanism is clearly flawed, which no amount of apologetic customer service could resolve besides providing a replacement, which at this point I would not perform. It takes a significant work to unmount the TV, unscrew the old mount, screw a replacement mount into the wall and mount the TV back on it than is worth it . Basically, Iโ€™m stuck with a TV that cannot be tilted/moved because by doing so it would make the TV become not leveled. What Iโ€™m trying to say is that I threw my money into the wind, whereas I could have purchased a reliable TV mount that did not experience this faulty leveling mechanism problem. Buy at your own risk. Youโ€™ve been warned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent all around.

First, read the instructions. They are EXCELLENT. Well-written English step by step instructions with humor on every page.
Second, lay out all the parts. It's all there and it's good to count and identify everything before you pick up the wrong screw by accident. Most of the small parts are in individual sealed packets with the size stamped on each packet. Very well-labeled.
Concerns:
1. I've set up TVs before and the first thing I checked out was the stud-mount spacing. Using an electronic stud finder, I marked my studs on the wall, 16" apart as usual. This wall base has a pretty good offering of oblong holes to line up with your studs in various situations. Of course, this mounting system is responsible for SO much weight that it only allows the spacing to vary left or right a certain amount; if the wall base was too far to either side, the system might not support the TV well. And, it won't let you go that far.
So, I leveled the template with a small spirit level, taped the template up to the wall, and drilled my four deep holes. The four hefty lag bolts went thru the base plate and into the studs as planned.
2. The step of lifting the TV set (after having installed its rear bracket earlier) can be a nightmare. I brought in a friend as suggested, showed him the "hook" arrangement, and we did it in one step just like that. Great design and safe support.
3. Finally, the TV pulls out (WAY out) from the wall by just pulling it with both hands-- and it can swivel sideways (WAY sideways), left or right, by just pulling it with both hands. All the while, it feels as solid as can be.
These guys took the trouble to engineer and re-engineer the product to make it as foolproof as possible for home installers. Excellent engineering and quality control.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great wallmount with a few nitpicks
Reviewed in the United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ on April 9, 2023

There was a lot to like about wall mount but had a few gripes while installing.

Pros:
- Instructions are super clear with a good sense of humor.
- Mounting template made drilling the holes for the lag bolts easy
- Lots of hardware for different TV VESA mounts
- Super solid construction
- Good range of motion with smooth operation

Cons:
- I have 16" studs that were pretty off-center. The mounting holes made it a little difficult to get this centered correctly. I've seen a few mounts with mounting holes along the entire length of the backplate which would have made the installation a little more straightforward
- There is some adjustability to where you hang the TV on the mount but both the center plate and tilt adjustment screw can get in the way of how much you can move it left to right
- The tilt adjustment screw.... this was mounted on a wall in a spare bedroom so didn't have a very large or heavy TV mounted (50") however you had to really wrench down the tilt adjustment to get it from moving once hung. I had it hand tightened the first time and you could almost immediately see the TV begin to tilt downward. Removing and using allen key on the one adjustment and wrenching the thumb screw down about as hard as possible was the only way to get it to stop moving.
- Not sure if it's really the fault of the mount but the TV doesn't sit super close to the wall even if pushed back all the way. I kinda knew this based on customer photos but just be aware that there will be a decent gap behind even with a super slim TV. This is the price you pay for adjustability but good to know beforehand.

Umm'ed and aah'ed over this being a little more expensive than other mounts but it's worth the extra $$. It's very heavy and solid and is super easy to mount. The instructions are clear, easy to understand, and actually quite funny (who would have thought?) The mounting template is helpful and easy to follow - simple to see where you need to make adjustments if your studs are a bit off like ours are. Range of motion is great and very smooth and sturdy with the TV. Million times better than the cheap mounts I've used before.

Very well built TV mount. I used it for an 85" screen. It was very easy to install and it is extremely sturdy to hold this size of screen, which is heavy. It is also very easy to tilt and level once installed. High quality looks and materials. Definitely recommend.

Replaced a regular bars-and-hang mounts with these scissors mounts for two flat screens. Did the full install myself because the directions were crystal clear and literally, every piece of hard you need is in the box. You will need (or want), an electric drill, stud finder, bits, ratchet set, level (you can use an iPhone), and tape measure. That and 45" minutes and --you'll have your flat screen up and on the wall. The ability to pull it out and get to cabling behind it makes an entire bunch of things easier any given day.
And the range of the tilt and pull even makes my wife happy lol.

Straight forward instructions. Need a little commonsense. My tv mount lined up with 1 stud. Studies are 16" centers. (Mine are not) used 200 pound drywall anchor screws. every 3 holes. Hanging now for 6 months and bet my 75 Inch weights 45 to 50 pounds. Have a game plan before you lift and mount TV. A little reassurance of a rehearsal pays off!

This product is the best quality wall mount I've ever bought. I've installed my share of wall mounted TVs and have tried most of the brands out there. There are some brands that are pretty well made but none like this one. It comes with a drill template and clear step by step instructions. If you're able to use a drill and know what the bubble on a level is, then this is wall mount for you. Very strong steel, All bolts are partitioned off for specific uses that are clearly outlined in the instructions. I won't be buying any other brand after setting just one of these up. Took me a good 30 minutes to install and I was slacking on the couch for the remainder of the day. Highly recommended product!
