Pirates, An Abused French Press, and an Amused Daughter
Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2017
At any point in my life had someone told me I'd be reading any type of book about pirates I'd have laughed at them. I'm not a pirate kind of girl. Or wasn't anyway. In fact my daughter knows me oh so well. The convo went something like:
My daughter: Whatya reading?
Me: A book.
My daughter: About what?
Me: Hard to explain. Kind of about pirates right now.
My daughter: You're kidding right?
Me: Well some of them are vampire pirates.
My daughter: This is one of those Kutherian things isn't it?
And so she left me to my reading because she knew talking to me would be fruitless at that point. This book was so engaging and Valerie was so kick butt. New friends and foes, which I always like. I literally stayed up through the next morning reading it because I couldn't put it down (and my French press got a LOT of use the next day). I am definitely eager to see what comes next. I'm still shaking my head that I'm excited to read about pirates but, hey, this is a Kutherian Universe brand of pirate so I know it's not me losing my mind. The writer's are just that good.
