My four year old and six year old read these books together. They really loved them! They laughed several times and enjoyed the overall story. It only took them a short time to read them, which was the only negative, but I'm still glad we got them.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from Hidden Gems, and have opted to provide this honest review.
I read this book to my 3 young children. My 5yo son bailed after chapter 1. "There aren't enough pictures and it's kind of boring." My 8 yo daughter left after chapter 2. "It's too disgusting. It's not even very funny." My 7 yo son stayed until chapter 4 when neither he nor I could really take the language. "It was pretty funny, but they keep doing the same things about the farting and they use lots of bad words like 'Shut up'."
I didn't care for the story much after the first couple of explosive gastric episodes. It seems to be one long fart with very little substance. Sad to say we didn't get to see them come anywhere close to the moon, but that was all the gas we could tolerate.
Read to children and asked why each was finished listening, about 30 minutes for 4 chapters and short discussions.
