Quality control issues - why is this suddenly $4 more expensive??
Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2017
I purchased and reviewed these a while back. I'm now revising my original review because I was going to buy another set - but not at the increased price. I purchased these approximately 6 months ago for $10.98, which is a fair price for what you're getting. I don't believe these are good enough quality to justify the $4 price increase.
First, the various notebooks have different amounts of paper - ranging from 24 to 32, with most of them around 26-28 pages. It's a little weird but, obviously, not a huge problem. It does, however, show a lack of quality control.
Second, the set that I received had some really bad stitching in some of the notebooks. Two had bunched threading in the middle, with both white and beige - presumably because one color had run out or something? You can tell it's not deliberate and I definitely wouldn't be giving these as a gift.
One notebook actually had bad stitching, period, so that the thread has already started to come out.
At the original price I paid for these, they were still a bit substandard but IMO a suitable alternative to the grossly overpriced Moleskine notebooks. However, at this current price, I won't be repurchasing and wouldn't recommend them.
