Just what I was looking for

We had been draping towels over our dogs crate to give him some peace and quite, which worked alright but didn't look very pretty. This crate cover is really just what I needed. The cover fits nicely, it is very easy to put on, has Velcro closures on all four corners and looks very nice in the living room. I'm postitve it, or when, it needs to be cleaned it will be very easy to wash. Before I purchased this crate cover I did a lot of web searching for a cover that would do what I needed and didn't cost $60 or more. I did not feel that it was necessary to buy a cover that had all kinds of designs, at a premium price. Solid black got less than $14 was right up my ally. Ok I was new to having a dog when I got the crate and cover and thought this was a goods set up. Not so much. The cover fits the crate perfectly but if you have a chewer , he will pull at it and tear at it and it will tear easily. This isn’t the biggest problem! As my chocolate lab grew from 6 weeks to 5 months, so did his breath output inside the crate at night. He came out of the crate one evening when I was going to take him for a 3am walk (I work 3rd shift and family puts him away earlier)and he smelled like MILDEW!! Now I thought he just got into something and was just dirty. I gave him a bath and dried him the best I could. I washed his bedding as well.... but it never really went away. In the next couple of weeks he developed a red bump rash all over his body. We went to the vet and got antibiotics and she asked if he got wet and didn't dry off.. Then I did the math. THIS COVER DOES NOT BREATHE! and like tents you'd use for camping in the early 80s where you'd wake up in the morning with condensation on the inside... This cover creates a moisture sauna!! This breeds bacteria and then the skin infection started. Its good for short periods but you can't use it for nightly bedtime... again…IT DOESNT BREATHE! and if he spills his water bowl hanging inside it makes the moisture problem worse! I now just use a cotton sheet.. Be careful!!

Very nice!!! Love the flap in the front too! I don't always make my pup sleep in his crate (unless he just WILL NOT SETTLE DOWN) but when I do, it instantly calms him and gives him the privacy and an environment free of distractions or temptations. The product feels as if it will be very durable and last for quite some time!

Pros: This cover is well made. It fits our 36” Midwest create perfectly. The corners have Velcro to keep it in place. There are covers on each side so that you can decide whether or not to cover the front (we do when pup is over-stimulated). The cover looks nice too, which I appreciate because it’s in our living room. The cover washes nicely in the machine.

Cons: the only thing that’s missing would be little ties or something to hold and sides of the cover you want up. We fold ours over but an option to roll up the sides and hold them would be great, especially for when we want the sides down but not all the way.

I ALMOST didn't buy this because of a few terrible reviews, but I'm really glad I did. Most of the reviews described the material as super thin and easy to tear, but if it's just a crate cover and your dog doesn't mess with it, it's not going to tear. I actually found the material a good thickness for what I'd hope for in a crate cover - light and breathable. My dogs just use their crates like little dens and don't mess with the blankets, so I really really enjoyed this cover. It's lightweight, fits well, and gives a good amount of shade. For the reviews that said their dog tore it up, seems like a training issue vs a product issue :).

I've gone through two sets of these for my dogs over the years. Unbelievably cheap compared to other ones - and it's better than a lot of them! The best thing moment ever was when I first discovered these 5 years ago when my dogs were puppies and we were crate training them. Instantly silenced them when they were whining and getting used to crates, but even now 5 years later, if we put the cover down all the way, they don't make a sound until we open it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE if you have a dog that won't stop barking, whining, or fighting/tearing apart their kennel! They work INSTANTLY! You'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

I love the cover and the velcro on the sides but the reason this is only getting 3 stars is because there should be some kind of tie down to secure the cover to the crate. Although my dog loves her crate as it's her sanctuary, she somehow pulls the cover into the crate with her. Unfortunately this has ruined the cover which has required me to stitch the material back together. If there was some kind of tie down the cover would not be able to be pulled into the crate. I may order another cover and stitch some kind of straps to the corners or find another manufacturer that builds a similar crate cover

Good basic crate cover

Good, simple crate cover. Fit our crate perfectly. The sides Velcro together but it's not securely fastened to the crate itself. Puppy pulled the entire cover into his kennel while we were gone. Will use it on our other dog's kennel but do not recommend for blanket pullers/chewers!

This has been on one of my four crates in my kitchen for the past couple of months. It gets dusty and hair settles on the top (lots of dogs so hair is everywhere) so I needed to clean it. Put it in the washing machine with some other dark doggy items, no bleach of course, popped it in the dryer on medium heat with everything else and it came out just like new. I expected it to fall apart or have some fraying on seams or hem - so far it's very good. I will probably buy 3 more. I like how all sides velcro together so you can optionally have sides or ends covered or open. Just wish there was a way to neatly secure the rolled or folded up flaps when not in the down position. Very good value for money.

Looks great on the crate

I really like these crate covers, because they are affordable and look great. They can be used with side or front door crates, because each panel can be lifted depending on how you fasten the velcro that is down each "corner." I have two of these in a 36" size, but my puppy outgrew the 36" crate and is now in a 42" crate. I had a cover for the 42" crate, but I like the looks of this cover so much, I bought a 42" size! I've always covered my crates, and this is the most attractive cover I've had. The price is affordable, too!

I did have an occasion where I had to wash one of these after a dog had a blowout in the crate, and it washed very well. No shrinkage and it went back on the crate without a stain in sight. I was really happy with the way it cleaned up.

I will note, that the fabric is similar to a bed sheet - it is not thick at all. If you're looking for a darkening effect, you'll have to cover with a thicker blanket. Being lighter weight probably helped with the laundering - vs a bulky heavy cover sloshing around in the wash making the load uneven. I don't care about the thickness for the purposes of covering the crate, so overall, I really like this cover. Obviously, I have three now!
