despite how good they were and they really are good

I wanted to write this review for all of the books that I have read by C.J. Petit since there is no link on his author page and he doesn't have a web page or Facebook. I find all of his books engaging. I grew up with my parents reading us Zane Grey; and have a complete hardbound set of his novels but all of his stories, despite how good they were and they really are good, left certain situations untouched. That's why I chose to write this for this particulate book. Gus is a story of normal people, damaged people really who discover that not only are they worth something but they are important and can be loved and appreciated by others. It deals with prostitution, hate, bigotry, and greed. I'm an ordained minister but I have found the same attitude expressed by the minister in the story. My family is not Jewish, we're Arab, and if that isn't a group of individuals who are currently hated int the U.S. I don't know who is. Yet my three sons have all served in the military, been deployed in Afghanistan and Irac, and my youngest is on his third deployment. Color, race, sex, religion have nothing to do with being a GOOD person.
I love the books. Good guy wins, kills the bad guy with extreme prejudiced, and gets the girl.
