Disappointing. Unimaginative and awkward lyrics, pointless interludes between each verse.

I was so excited about this book, but it was disappointing. We have "There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat" (which is a Halloween theme) from the same author, and we love singing that one to our baby. The problem with this book is twofold: Some of the lyrics don't fit the natural cadence of the song, and in between each verse, there are two pages of non-song comments by some extraneous and unnecessary characters. It really makes for a disappointing singalong. It is so disappointing that I am planning to return it, which I almost never do with children's books because they usually have some redeeming value. Not so with this one.
