“I have never been more afraid than I was right then and there. I was going to lose you before I even got to have you. And when Tink said there may be another way, it was the only choice I had and I made that choice knowing you could hate me for it. I made that choice knowing that it could hurt me. I made that choice knowing that you may never forgive me for it.”
One thing that I love about rereading books is that because I already know what’s going to happen, I get to see the twists and turns coming. And I feel like it lets me appreciate the way Jennifer’s mind works even more. Even though the ending did feel a bit rushed, the last few chapters blew my mind. There is a lot of stuff that happens in those chapters that it kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen.
I think we’ve already established from my reviews of the previous books just how much I love Tink, and that stays true in Brave as well. He’s such a breath of fresh air and adds some much needed levity to some heavy scenes. I love Ivy and Ren, even though there are times that I wanted to smack them. There was a period of time where my heart just hurt for both of them, but I trusted that Jen would have everything work out, and she didn’t fail me.
Before you read this book make sure that you’re ready for some plot twists, betrayal, fights, and some laugh out loud Tink moments. Honestly I always forget how much I love this series until I reread it. But then again, I think that happens a lot with Jennifer’s books.
“I’d rather have you pissed off at me for the rest of your very long life than to allow the world’s brightest f*cking star to go out. You can hate me today and tomorrow, but at least you’ll have a tomorrow, and I’ll make d*mn sure you have a whole bunch of them to be angry with me.”
