5.0 out of 5 starsI love rereading this series!
Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2021
“I have never been more afraid than I was right then and there. I was going to lose you before I even got to have you. And when Tink said there may be another way, it was the only choice I had and I made that choice knowing you could hate me for it. I made that choice knowing that it could hurt me. I made that choice knowing that you may never forgive me for it.”

One thing that I love about rereading books is that because I already know what’s going to happen, I get to see the twists and turns coming. And I feel like it lets me appreciate the way Jennifer’s mind works even more. Even though the ending did feel a bit rushed, the last few chapters blew my mind. There is a lot of stuff that happens in those chapters that it kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen.

I think we’ve already established from my reviews of the previous books just how much I love Tink, and that stays true in Brave as well. He’s such a breath of fresh air and adds some much needed levity to some heavy scenes. I love Ivy and Ren, even though there are times that I wanted to smack them. There was a period of time where my heart just hurt for both of them, but I trusted that Jen would have everything work out, and she didn’t fail me.

Before you read this book make sure that you’re ready for some plot twists, betrayal, fights, and some laugh out loud Tink moments. Honestly I always forget how much I love this series until I reread it. But then again, I think that happens a lot with Jennifer’s books.

“I’d rather have you pissed off at me for the rest of your very long life than to allow the world’s brightest f*cking star to go out. You can hate me today and tomorrow, but at least you’ll have a tomorrow, and I’ll make d*mn sure you have a whole bunch of them to be angry with me.”

2.0 out of 5 starsThat’s a pretty big continuity issue
Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2017
I’m not actually finished with the book, so I might the change my stars once I finish. Has no one noticed that the character named a David has been renamed Daniel in this book? That’s a pretty big continuity issue. I’m also just frustrated with the characters. They haven’t been together long enough to really be deeply in love, and their behavior suggests they are mostly just in lust. If you truly love someone you should feel comfortable enough to have difficult conversations. For Ivy to not feel comfortable enough to even tell Ren she is having nightmares is ridiculous.

3.0 out of 5 stars That's...it...????

I hate to write this because I understand the creative talent that goes into writing a book but this was disappointing. It's not a Trilogy at all. The story is unfinished. There are way too many questions that were never answered on this. Who are Ivy's real parents? What happened to David's wife? If the clover was essentially a weapon, why wasn't it used against the Queen?

And...for...the...love...of...God! Why...does...the...author...use...so...many...dot...dot...dots??????? Ugh! Overkill! I can understand using it with one character when they are in dialogue. It would indicate a character trait, but to use the "..." every damn page is ridiculous and highly annoying.

I have read Jennifer's other books and have loved them. This series fell short of me. I will be taking a break before I dive into the 1001 Dark Nights, which in itself seems rather confusing. I am hoping some of the answers that were not provided in this Trilogy will come together in those books.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed Wishing the Story was complete even a little..

Honestly I saw the movie Wicked and felt like I was missing something. It's normal for me to watch a movie and want more. The movie was missing ALOT and very much reminded me of another series by another author. I loved the movie and the series of that author so...

So, I purchased the series hoping for the MORE I was missing. Sadly to say, I am still missing pieces and the series is unfinished before moving into another tale... It doesn't really make sense to have 3 books for ONE story unless the content is really there to make it three separate books. This series did not have enough content for the first three books, and at the same time to much filler content to not finish the story? It is written more like someone who self published on Amazon and wants to make a book that should be ONE STORY into 14.

As far as I am concerned it makes very little sense at all. I have not read the other three books because, the story of the first three books is not finished. I will leave it where its died in my library of never read again... I don't care about grammar or any of the tech stuff in a story but what I was so hoping for I didn't get. Therefore, I will remain disappointed.

This wasn't my favorite of JLA's series. I did enjoy it enough that I read it all in a day and a half, but I had a lot of mixed feelings. I think this one could have used trigger warnings too. Also, for a trilogy the ending was very unresolved. I know there is the spin off but if I had been reading this when it first came out I probably would have been upset. This didn't feel like an ending and left you with a lot of questions. Hopefully they will be resolved when I check out the spin off.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thinking about Tink
Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2020

I did enjoy the previous two book and read all three in a matter of days. To be honest though, I contemplated not completing the third book.

I didn't see any continuity issues as I imagine they were fixed in the digital version. However, there were a lot of questions left unanswered, such as who Ivy's parents were, and what exactly makes Tink so revered and powerful (and don't get me started on the fact that despite being a powerful character he is routinely left out of the action).

The characters were interesting. Ivy is a deeply flawed and self centered individual with self righteous tendencies, this does not make her a likable character but it does make her relatable.

Tink is.... Tink makes up for any flaws in this series 😛

The world is interesting. Curious for the spin offs but might wait a bit.

3.0 out of 5 stars I love this series but

I love this series but, it drives me crazy that the author can’t keep her characters straight. In the first 2 books Ivy’s boss/father figure is named David Faustin. In the 3rd book she changes it to Daniel Cullivier. How do you forget his name? Shouldn’t you reread your previous book before writing the next one? And halfway through book 3 she changes one of the character’s name from Dane to Dale. Besides these continuity errors, I think this is a good book. I just wish the author had cared enough about this book to be consistent in her writing.

This series was a good and easy read! Definitely not on par with Armentrout’s most recent series From Blood and Ash in terms of plot and complexity. It’s obvious that her writing has grown over the years! This series is perfect for fantasy romance lovers looking for some brain candy! Interesting plot and a heartwarming romance!

I enjoy Ivy and Rent together. The course of this book had some good highs and lows. I wish more of the history of the relationship between fae and The Order was explored but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

There was a lot of build up for a pretty anti-climactic ending. I love the rest of the series and the characters are great but the finish was a little lackluster for me.
