Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I've been teaching myself network analysis and this one is a blending of theory (Wasserman's classic on this end) and application (various texts with applications in R on this end). Highly readable, good selection of methods one can use to analyze their data, and clear exposition.
Some cons: The author has developed a software of his own which may not be as useful for R users. The book does not spend much time on modern inferential statistics, such as ERGM.
Pretty nice book from authors are who are leading scholars in social network analysis. I think this book stands out in terms of explaining social network concepts in plainer words compared to some of other social network analysis books out there. Good book to have around if you are interested in social network analysis.
Needed this as a class textbook and have been thoroughly impressed. It’s unlike other books where it’s boring and long to have to read. It gives you just the right amount of info each chapter without going overboard.
New to the social network field, this book was recommended to me to accompany my use of ucinet. It has been a great resource for basic theoretical understanding and to assist in determining how to answer specific social network questions.
