Redundant and boring.

I struggled to finish this book. The grammar and punctuation errors should have been caught by the editor. That aside, I struggled with the story line. It was redundant and circular yet also vague at times. That made it difficult for me to stay interested. I almost felt like I was re-reading parts yet that I had somehow missed something while reading. There is no rhyme or reason to the story, in my opinion. Somewhere, the back story of the "villain" should have been introduced. That's my opinion anyway. I forced myself to finish the book. I'm glad that I didn't pay for it. It was offered as a freebie through BookBub. Oh, I also found the ending to be anticlimactic as well as a bit baffling. **SPOILER ALERT** The villain doesn't speak at all throughout the entire book until the very end. Odd. I would like to mention that I am a huge fan of the horror genre. I love reading dark material - have been a Stephen King fan forever. While the plot, technically is dark, the writing is very blah and there was nothing "horrific" that happened. Yes, the plot is "horror" but the writing, the story is severely lacking in many, many ways. I've not read anything else written by this author. Not sure if I want to give her another shot at entertaining me or not. I'm an avid reader and LOVE indie authors. Perhaps this was just a boring book for me. *shrug*
