Perfect Easter Basket book for toddlers! 🐣

My son will be 3 in a few months and has been loving all of the Little Blue books ever since he got the Christmas one (the tree lights up!). We also have the original, which is my least favorite actually, and Little Blue Truck Leads the Way, which is his favorite! Just ordered the Valentine’s Day one and now this to put in his Easter basket.

It seems to be much shorter than the original, but has a lot of the same cute animals in it. Most pages are a sentence or a few short ones; much different than Leads the Way, which is pretty long. I love that it’s interactive and has flaps to open!!! He’s going to love it. Every one of the Little Blue books has tons of repetitive action and descriptive words (BEEP, PUSH, FLASHING, SCREECHING, etc) which are great for building your little one’s vocabulary. He has a speech delay but knows plenty of nouns; his speech therapist recommended these books for verbs!

Highly recommend it for toddlers, especially over the age of 2. Boys and girls will love it.

Don’t buy if you are looking for a new little blue truck story

Extremely disappointed. I must have read the city and the farm blue truck stories to my son 100 times each. This is a baby picture book and will not keep a toddler interested. It’s not even a very good baby book. Do not buy if you are looking for a new blue truck story. This has no story at all. I’m not saying the story isn’t good. I’m saying there isn’t a story at all. 2 stars is probably generous.

We are huge fans of the “Little Blue Truck” series! But this is by far the least favorite of the books. It’s like the classic “Beep-Beep” got switched with “Yoo-Hoo”....Stick with what works, the kids LOVE saying, “BEEP, BEEP”!

My son was so excited for the new book but we read it once and he was over it. Unlike the original “Little Blue Truck” and “Little Blue Truck’s Christmas” both of which I have memorized from reading repeatedly!

Wonderful book for 1-2 years olds

This instantly became my 22-month old grandson's favorite book. It features animals that he knows, such as birds (robins feeding babies in a nest, pigs, cows, and ducks). Cute, durable lift-up flaps made of cardboard and not paper so it will last. Also, EXTREMELY cute frogs wearing flower garlands. Bigs swaths of flowers and colored bushes for learning colors. Lots of baby animals for counting to ten. As one reviewer noted, not much of a narrative, but then I like to make up my own. Way better than the bewildering and ethically questionable little blue truck story where a mean dump truck gets stuck in the mud and the animals refuse to push it out, and only help when the nice little blue truck that they like comes along. To start with, how many very young children know what it means for a vehicle to be stuck in mud and then push it out? I can see my grandson trying to puzzle that one out. And do we really want to promote only helping our friends? And lots of pictures of mud in that book--- not fun. The LBT in springtime is by far my favorite LBT book.

I was surprised by the negative reviews of this book. My 15-month-old fell in love with Little Blue Truck, so I took a chance and got this book for her for Easter. It is so cute and she loves it! There isn't a real story like in the original or Little Blue Truck Leads the Way, but this book is just as sweet and beautifully illustrated as the others. Its pages are a better quality than Little Blue Truck's Christmas, too -- durable to stand the test of little grubby hands pulling on the flaps. My daughter loves pointing out all of the animals in this book. And though there isn't a real plot other than Blue and Toad going for a drive, the book is written in the same sing-song fashion as all of the others.

A flap book - better for younger kids.

My son loves Little Blue Truck and Little Blue Truck Leads the Way. I got this one expecting it to be similar, but it is only a flap book with very few words. It’s high quality and vibrant, just designed for younger kids. My bad for not reading the description better.

If you love the other little blue truck books, just know this flap book is NOT like the others.

Our almost two year old adores the Little Blue Truck series and this one is no exception! I admit I was hesitant to purchase the book as the other reviews weren't too promising but as always, Alice Schertle delivers. The rhyming story line is adorable and perfect for the Springtime season. Our son loves lifting the flaps on each page. The book also provides opportunity to count and practice animal recognition & sounds which is exactly what we are working on with our little guy. We hope to see more Little Blue Truck books in the future!

Cute, but not as good as original

Cute book, but I don’t like it as much as the original and the “Leads the way” city sequel. There isn’t as much of a story to it with very little words on it. The constant “Yoo-Hoo” gets kind of old, but my baby obviously doesn’t mind it. The lift flaps are nice & they are sturdy, my 8 month old loves lifting them herself.
