BEAUTIFUL STORY!!!

This was a beautiful love story with lots of suspense and action also. I loved Jared and Christian and I was so glad they got their happy ending!!!! Love is love and I felt Kris Michaels described the relationship between the two in perfect way.... they were as sweet, passionate, and sexy as all of her other couples have been. I didn't know what to expect but I loved the entire book and how loving Jared was to Christian. I really enjoy that all the other brothers and their families are integrated throughout the story and we get little glimpses of how their lives are going. I highly recommend this book. The family loyalty, affection, humorous interactions and love is always very moving to me!!!😊

Same sex romance-not my cup of tea

I love this series, but did not enjoy this book. I have nothing against same sex relationships if that is your preference, but I am not into reading about the details of their intimate moments. I ended up skipping over all those parts which made this book very short to read. I have a family member who is gay, so that isn’t the issue. When I want to read a romance, I prefer it to be a heterosexual relationship. Story is good, but not interested in the sex scenes. If you aren’t either, skip this read. The rest of the series I have read is awesome and the characters are believable and interesting. Still love her books, the story lines are great-including this one.

I only give this book one star because of the very detailed information of the gay sex acts between the two major people in this book. One half to three quarters of this book was about that. If you are not into reading about this then I suggest you skip this book in the series. All the rest of them so far have been great.

In Jared’s book, we finally learn why he has acted the way he has for the past three years. I’ll admit I wasn’t sure his reasons would be good enough for the pain he caused, but I understood once Jared revealed his true feelings and explained why he kept his distance.

Poor Christian had been hurt so many times by Jared. He was determined to keep his distance and never have any further interactions with him again. However when Christian discovered a problem at work, the Guardian Security company were his only hope.

I was so glad Christian listened to Jared and gave him the opportunity to explain. He actually understood Jared’s reasoning once he opened up about his fears. There was even a point where Christian witnessed first hand what Jared had been scared of happening, and Christian then had a deeper respect for Jared’s feelings.

There is a back story that has been carrying through the last several books and it continued with this one. The Guardians are still after the Russians. They have pushed the wheels into motion on a plan, that although it may take a while to work, will hopefully ultimately be successful. My fingers are crossed for frequent updates on Chief, so I am definitely planning on continuing this series.

Love is scary when you are the face of the company. Everything you do is scrutinized. The person you love will go under the microscope and there is no way to stop people from going to the jugular to bring out all the skeletons you or your partner want hidden away. This is why Jared wanted to start away from Christian. Unfortunately, love doesn't work that way. When your heart wants something, it will figure out a way.
Christian had a horrible life until Jason and Adam got him away. All he ever wanted to do was help children. He is now a social worker and he knows something is going on with the children going missing. He just needs help finding out what is going on. He finally goes to Jason for help.
Jared is done fighting the pull. He wants Christian and hopes Christian still wants him. While they are navigating a relationship, attempts at them from attacks and the media are in full swing.
Will they find out who is behind the children missing? Will they be able to forge a future or is the attacks and the media too much?

Jared (Kings of Guardian #5) by Kris Michaels was #5 in her series that is well worth the read. I just love her suspenseful plots and the way her characters seem to touch my heart deeply. I sincerely care about them. Jared King and Christian Koehler have an interesting back story that has been woven into novels #1-4. This novel focuses on their volatile “relationship” and how both men choose to avoid each other at all costs. As Fate intervenes, both gay men- one out and the other closeted, and knocks sense into the two men with a proverbial sledgehammer and they start to view life differently than before. This novel has M/M sexual scenes, a first for my reading, but love is love and it works well in character development and the plot.

Even though the King family members have each faced his/her own demons, I’d admire the whole family’s loyalty and love for each other.

This story was a tough one for me but it was still intriguing. Jared, as it turns out, is gay. The man the King men saved became Jared's loved - Christian. Christian stumbles upon a Russian mafia project who kidnaps children for sale in sex trafficking. He almost loses his life but Jared saves him and their relationship progresses from there. It seems this investigation is ongoing as we don't get an ending in this story. However, Jared and Christian are working on their happily ever after. FANTASTIC job Kris! I would recommend this book!

Going into the fifth book of an established series can be a bit risky, but this is well done to standalone. You get references to other characters and book plots, but there isn't anything here that makes you HAVE TO read all the books. I greatly appreciate that.

For the content of this, it's long enough for me to seesaw on how much I like it. It's well-written and hits several notes that I loved, but it’s also a bit much in places. Jared and Christian's relationship is a bit choppy, most likely due to the brief snippets used to introduce them, and I don't know that I really like how it all got smoothed over to get to their happily ever after. It's a solid story, though, so I am interested in reading more from the series.

I recently discovered Kris Michaels and am enjoying my way through the Kings of Guardian series. I understood from the get go that the characters of this book would not be my cup of tea. Imagine my complete shock as I discovered I am not as liberal minded as I believed myself to be. I just could not read the explicit scenes. What was there was well written, just not for me. I still love Ms. Michaels writting, but I am skipping this book.

Macho man Loves macho man...not your typical love story, but still a love story. Jared King, spokesman and face for Guardian has resisted the pull between himself and Christian for three long years doing everything he could to push him away. When Christian brings a case of missing children to Guardian Security they are thrown together again and when Christian is attacked Jared has to come to terms with himself or lose the chance for happiness. I would have liked to read the conclusion of the missing children but here's to moving on to the next book to find out!
