How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 starsbut they were perfect for the mother who doesn't want to spend too ...
Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2018
Got these for my 13 yr old son who is 5'9" size 34 waist. I was worried that they would be too short but they fit well around the waist and they come right to his knees. He won't be able to fit them next year, but they were perfect for the mother who doesn't want to spend too much money on her growing teen who is out growing everything.

1.0 out of 5 starsSplit in the crotch
Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2019
I was wearing these shorts around the house, when a few friends stopped by. We were all sitting around watching TV when i reached at a weird angle for the remote. The crotch seam pulled apart and my scrotum came spilling out right infront of my friends. This was pretty embarrassing. Picture not attached.

1.0 out of 5 stars You get less than what you paid for with these shorts.
Reviewed in the United States on March 29, 2019

I bought these for track use. They are extremely thin and you can see through the entire pair (see pic) - that’s through the front AND back at the same time. (First pic is two layers of fabric. Second pick is one layer of fabric.) I washed them first as directed and the seams are already coming out. I used a washer that doesn’t have an agitator, so there’s nothing that’s going to cause this in the washer. It’s simply shoddy tailoring. You definitely get what you pay for. I’ll be returning them immediately. We’d be better off paying for a single pair for this price rather than five ratty pairs of this quality. Just think twice before you buy these. I’ve bought cheap shorts before where the quality has been much better. I expected them to be cheaply made but not this bad. Sorry. I’m not walking around with sheer shorts for the world to see my underwear.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Construction
Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2018
Size: X-LargeColor: Set FVerified Purchase
Another reviewer wrote that you get what you pay for, but I'd have to differ in opinion. One usually gets a better deal when buying in bulk and at $6 a short when bought in a pack of 5, you are not getting your money's worth.
The Pros:
The material is light and airy and given its polyester material, it wicks as advertised. I didn't find the material excessively transparent as reported in other reviews. The waist fit well and four out of the five shorts fit well (one of them fit more like a large). All-in-all, the shorts are great for lounging around the house and some light work outs, but not for much else.
The Cons:
As a person that knows his way around commercial sewing machines, I can tell you that what was used to put these garments together is not calibrated, and probably too old, to work with the material that these shorts are made out of. The lack of quality and attention to detail is an indicator of poor quality control measures and a highly uneducated/ignorant/poorly trained workforce. These shorts are bottom of the barrel garments that are trying to pass themselves off as mid-level garments. I've purchased $5 shorts at Walmart that were made better. The seams are hastily put together with material bunching that indicated more need for speed in construction then durability and common basic composition. The threads on all the garments are excessively loose and will probably require restitching after the first wash (as alluded to in other reviews). The stripe embellishments don't even align correctly and cause the garment to look sloppy and poorly made even from afar. In short, again, great product for lounging as you might want to be at home when these fall apart after getting up from a chair or doing any heavy stretching.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too cheap, buy a single pair for the same price.
Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2020

These shorts are basically an affront to the the word active.

Look, I'm a big dude, so my intention for these was to buy them as pajama bottoms and house wear, but they can't even serve that purpose.

Active Wear Sin #1: How am I supposed to take anything with me, like a phone, keys, or wallet, when these pockets are SO SHALLOW. See my pictures for reference, but all of these shorts have pockets that only go about 3 inches deep after the lower seem, making it so your phone is going to stick out while you have it in your pocket. If you sit or lay down, say goodbye to that phone as it takes a nose dive.

Active Wear Sin #2: These are too tight. Again, I am a big man, but I had to buy one size larger than my normal size to get these to fit. Athletic shorts are meant to stretch and stay together, but these have ripped so easily from me sitting down and walking around. I imagine someone going stretches or going to the gym regularly is gonna have an even harder time with these.

Active Wear Sin #3: These are far too thin to be considered sweat resistant. These are essentially underwear, but even my cheap hanes have thicker material. If the seems don't rip on you first, these will surely die in your washing machine long before they see a month of use.

Final Verdict: Two of these shorts are not really usable after only a week. I have some nice adidas atheletic shorts that have lasted me a year, but they were $25. Of course, if you manage to get even 6 months of use out of all of the five pairs of shorts in the product I am reviewing, I would be surprised. So, do the math: 1+ year for $25 shorts that have good pockets, or ~5 months for $32 while missing all the convenience.

3.0 out of 5 stars Caveat emptor: you get what you pay for with these shorts

Okay, you cannot beat five pairs of athletic shorts for the price. Let's get that up-front. However, you are getting what you pay for, here -- some inexpensive, hastily made athletic shorts. These aren't going to impress anyone at the gym. They won't make you look cool. But as far as an inexpensive basic, they do the job admirably.

I took off two stars because one pair had the pocket partially sewn up and a bunch of thread hanging down from that inexplicable seam, and because the fabric is incredibly thin. Do not go commando in these things unless you really want the world to see your junk (and possibly get a public indecency charge in the process). I will say that they go well over compression boxers, and they're great to sleep in when it's hot in the summer and everything seems too sticky.

Shorts are ok for the price. I ordered a 5 pack of small, only they sent me a medium. So my son is only able to use 4 pair. And another pair fell apart after washing them. (He didn’t even wear them yet). Colors of the shorts are nice. But they don’t pay attention to what sizes they send you and the quality is poor. You get what you pay for.

The product fits as advertised and feels very comfortable however you can't wash these. After 1 or 2 washings they seem to fall apart and they do not fall apart just at the seams, threads start coming out even at the legs. The pockets don't seem very sturdy either since the material is so thin I definitely would not put something sharp like a set of keys in them I did walk around with my cell phone in the pocket and it did remain in the pocket. The price is very very cheap but then again so is the quality so to wear these around the house just to cover yourself is fine even to go out to throw the garbage out or set out by the pool it's fine I am not sure how they will stand up to heavy sports as I do not do that and they are already falling apart This is just me personally I would not buy these again I think I would rather spend a few extra bucks to get a brand name quality item that's on sale

1.0 out of 5 stars Total waste of money and time.

Shorts were no where near the sizing chart sizes. They were at least 1 if not 2 sizes too small. Then they are very thin and almost see through. That is nice for hot days. The pockets are so small they cant even hold a cell phone without being concerned it'll fall out. One of the pairs for at the seam at the pocket the first time I wore them.

Total waste of money

I am 5'11 and weigh about 195 with a 32 inch waist I ordered the large. Waist is a good fit but they hang past my knee. A bit too long. Thin and nothing I would give 3 stars for this far. HOWEVER they put women's pockets on these things! My cell phone doesnt even go in half way. If you put your keys in your pocket, they will fall out. You could even put a piece of gum and have it fall out!
