5.0 out of 5 starsDidn't Expect to Like It, But It Was Great

Bottom line--I really liked this. I didn't think I would. This is a tie-in, so it doesn't carry the main story of the Dark Nights: Metal event. The art style for the various issues doesn't always click with me. And it doesn't really move the ball or have a lot of depth in terms of the characters.
But, at the end of the day, it's enjoyable. Almost felt like watching the Justice League cartoon again. While Batman and Superman are off during the main events of Metal, the Teen Titans, Suicide Squad and other heroes are facing off with the psychotic Batmen of the dark multiverse in a warped Gotham. The story is contained, the setting is unique, and the creepy gothic vibe is almost more "metal" than the actual "Metal" story (which mostly gets cosmic in the back half). If you liked Metal, I think you'll really like the Resistance, which just shows more of what was happening with the world during the event, and has a fairly direct, easy-to-follow storyline.
