As a former Nurse having dlt with Hempatic Encephalopathy twice, I was prised and very encourged as to ho SA Magusson weaved i into the plot line. Medical background, a ton of research or a med professional giving details I know not, I do know Well Done ! I am one of those that watch a show or movie and throw a piece f popcorn at where thy mess up (keeps the cats entertained too). No popcorn thrown at the kindle.
It is well crafted, well told, and characters fleshed out in reality, sas much as mages, vampires and shifters can be living in Minneapolis. I did think at the start it would be set ut of the states, some terms just fit more British but by chapter three they had gone. Romance in the future for the Archer and Doctor ? Plausible at this point. Can be a stand alone forthose that don't catch the need the whole story, and can eat just 2-3 potato chip and walk way, me I have bought the other book to see here this goes. Hope no spoilers given to ruined your desire to red and take he sep into book two. Highly recommend for those that want the thought of a speials walking among us, just don't wnt to meet them to find they are far worse then fiction.. a quick read if you have the time, lazy Sat etc.. or in my case a 45 min here and there.. reading by kindle and candle liht on a stormy night made the finish really pop, nice thunderstorm knocking out the power thakfully having a charged power pack didn't leave me unable to finish. Would not want to try all the action packed scenes, and unexpected plot twists and turns as a medical resident, they don't get enough sleep as they need anway.
