I've read books 1 and 2 in the series, and I loved Burke. He was the peacemaker for all and his character in the previous books made me want to read this novella.
Even though this is a novella, and not much action (one partial fight), I enjoyed it. I liked how the author starts out with the present time for them , then went back 10 years to when Burke and Meredith's loved blossomed.
There is only 1 passionate love scene between our H/h, and then how her wedding night transpired with her then husband. My heart ached for Meredith, because she couldn't be with the man she loved. I can't imagine what it was like not to be able to chose your spouse.
The next book of the series is on Daniel, a brother we have yet to meet but only talked about, should be interesting read too.
We get HEA, passionate (1) lovemaking, no cliffhanger for our couple, but as in the previous books a war is building and you don't know how it will all end unless you read the next book of the series. (ljb)
