5.0 out of 5 starsVery nice supplement to full-size carry-on
Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2019
This small carry-on, good for a weekend trip, pairs very well with the company's larger carry-on, giving you flexibility if you have both of them (see photos). It's a roller bag, which spares you from a sore shoulder from a tote bag when having to stand in line for customs on those international flights. If you take both bags, you'll save $200 in extra luggage fees for an overseas flight by just checking the larger bag, taking this as carry-on. You can use just the small bag for a short trip, the full-size carry-on for a week trip, and take both for a long trip. This little bag is very flexible and the designers gave a lot of thought about different ways it might be used. I liked the ability to configure it as a a partially opening flap (see photo), where you might keep files and papers for business use. If you undo some snaps, it turns into conventional luggage that opens all the way, which is good for storing clothes. It also has a nice removable hang-up bag for toiletries that you might put on a towel hook. I liked all of the compartments that it has, which you can use to keep everything organized. Other reviewers note that it also fits under the seat, but it's hard to get it in unless you have an economy plus seat with extra leg room. However, it's light and can be easily hauled up to the overhead bin, which will leave the under-seat area free for your legs. There is no spinner version of this (that I can see), but I like the sturdy wheels it has, and I don't think there's much advantage to spinner wheels for light luggage. It's very well constructed. TravelPro generally does a great job with their luggage, and this bag only leaves me more enthusiastic about their products.

3.0 out of 5 starsFits under the seat but provides very limited access to items inside
Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2018
I have a love-hate relationship with this bag. When it arrived, I loved it. It's much more lightweight than the bag I was replacing, and I like the styling and color. It rolls well either pushing or pulling when fully loaded.

As I started packing, I liked it a little less. The compartment on the top (in the front) doesn't hold as much as I thought it would from the picture. There's another pocket on the flap inside, but it's also quite small. The problem is that these two compartments kind of "share" a space. Putting anything in the front pocket made it difficult to put much in the interior pocket.

On the plus side, the main interior space holds a decent amount. I was able to put a change of clothes, including a pair of shoes, inside, plus my essentials for the flight and all of my "can't live without" stuff that I don't pack in a checked bag.

Even though I totally loaded this baby up, it still fit under the seat in front of me on my international flight (window seat). The problem was getting it there and accessing it. Flying in seats with 31" pitch, I really had trouble getting the bag angled right so it would slide under the seat because it totally filled the space between the seat in front of me and my seat. There was no room for my legs, so I had to push the bag under the seat while I was sitting in the seat next to mine -- awkward. Once the bag was in place, it was not coming out again until the end of the flight, so access to anything in it was very limited. While getting to the things in the outside pocket wasn't that bad, accessing the inner pocket was a pain. And because that exterior pocket is so small, I was without a lot of the things I'd hoped to have access to during my 12 hour flight.

It came with a small hanging bag that I didn't really have any use for, so left that out. I did appreciate that it came with a registration card that could be scanned with a phone. Really quick and easy to register. The handle telescopes and is adjustable to several different lengths.

For reference, the tablet in my photos is a Kindle Fire and the paperback is one of those old 1970s paperbacks (smaller than most modern paperbacks).

Overall, I think this would make a very good bag for someone who was planning to either put it in the overhead and forget about it, or put it under their seat but didn't need anything out of it during the flight. But if you're looking for something you can access much during a flight, this isn't the bag for you. On my return trip, I ended up putting my Kindle, etc. in a shoulder bag and checking this. I'm giving it to my daughter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great exterior questionable interior

First let me say I am not sure I am the traveler this bag was designed for. The problem is I spent way to much time trying to figure the type of travel it was designed for but couldn’t. I bought this suitcase cause I travel regularly on regional jets, specifically 700s and 145s. I was wanting a main bag for my clothes that I didn’t have to gate check. I still used my backpack for my work materials. This suitcase does fit in the overhead of both types of small regional jets. It was a tight but it does consistently fit. Concerning the actual bag it feels very sturdy and of above average quality. I like the exterior design. I think the extended handle could be a little longer. I am 6’ and it seemed like I was about the max size for using it to pull my bag. Concerning the interior it can hold a lot. I have packed 3 sets of dress clothes plus a workout out fit and running shoes. I was able to fit my size 13 running shoes mainly cause they are not very structured so they are just slightly thicker than sandals. I couldn’t pack my basketball shoes. I just put them in the laptop slip. The reason I gave it 3 stars is based on the fact they use Velcro on the inside flap. With the materials used in today’s clothes a lot of them get messed up because of Velcro. I just don’t understand why it’s there. It surves no benefit over the buttons that are there as well. I honestly wish that whole flap was not there and they just used a strap and buckle to secure the clothes. I was tempted to cut it out, it frustrated me that much. All that said if you are looking for a small bag that is solid, fits small planes and don’t hate Velcro I think you will be happy with this bag. The posted picture it the bag is it in the overhead in a AA EMJ-145.

3.0 out of 5 stars Won't fit a Macbook Pro 2020
Reviewed in the United States on July 29, 2021
Color: BlackVerified Purchase
Although the outside dimensions of my Macbook Pro 2020 are 14 1/4" x 9 7/8", and some have claimed the bag would fit a 14" laptop, it would not fit in the padded sleeve of this bag (by a good inch). And just placing the laptop loosely into the unstructured interior was not a good solution to that problem, as it would move around freely, anchored only by whatever other goods you stuffed into the bag along with it. While otherwise good-looking, lightweight, and seemingly sturdy, this disappointingly had to go back.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nicely made, difficult to pack

I'm a flight attendant and do a lot of one day trips. The bag is well made and lightweight but for me was difficult to correctly pack. Unless you place it horizontally on the ground and unzip it it doesnt work that great. If you load your daily needed items in it they all fall to the bottom and I find that Im constantly rearranging things and having to unpack it if I just unzip it and try to take things out of it vertically. In the future Id get a bag that unzipped horizontally rather that vertically. This may not be an issue for the majority of people who use it but it isnt ideal for a flight attendant. Nice bag though.

3.0 out of 5 stars Neat, sweet, petite.
Reviewed in the United States on August 31, 2019

I was hoping to get an underseat roller to avoid using a backpack or multiple shoulder bags but I've now tried several brands and they are just tiny inside. This Travelpro seems to be the nicest of the bunch and really, it's the airlines' fault, not the luggage maker. But when you read the inside dimensions of these bags, they don't take into account the space lost to the collapsible handle. The wheels also take up space, and it's even worse on the 4-wheeled ones.

You could probably pack stuff like socks between the handle bars (nothing fragile, that's for sure) but my hats off to anybody who packs more than lunch and a spare pair of shoes in one of these.

I was hoping it would be roomier than it is but if you pack right it can still hold quite bit. The padded laptop pocket is just waisted space for my purposes. It would be a nice feature to be able to remove the padded pocket to free up that precious bit of space.
As for the color, dusty rose is not accurate. Dusty lavender maybe but definitely NOT dusty rose.

Bought this for my wife to fit underwear so she could easily access headphones, IPad, cables and kindle. The bag was not overstuffed. C Flew 1st class on two Delta 757 flights. The case did not fit underneath on either. While the inflight entertainment units reduced space by a few inches. Since it had to go in the overhead, I think we will switch back to the 20 inch Travel
To roo aboard.

I wanted to love this bag very much. It does however have some challenges. Not sure why all 4 wheels don't glide all my other travelpro bags do. After 2 months of consistent usage now the teeth are not lining up the way they should be. I haven't experienced this on any of my other travelpro bags either. If I had to buy over again I would not. The wheels alone are major pain in the rear.

I returned this. I bought it to use as an underseat personal item, to avoid paying a fee for a carry on luggage. The personal item max size is 14x18x8, but this is slightly larger at 17.5 x 14.5 x 8.5.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit too small

The luggage was a bit smaller than I imagined. It’s great for people who don’t carry as much items. There are many compartments to separate your items which I like. The luggage itself is not too heavy.
