Trapped! is a great book for tweens, teens, and just anyone, including a senior citizen, who loves a good mystery, wonderfully drawn characters, and lots of history sprinkled throughout the novel. Florian Bates and his best friend, Margaret Campbell, are at it again, using TOAST (The Theory of All Small Things) to solve crimes that baffle even the FBI and CIA. A joy ride for the characters, plus a look into Marcus Rivers' personal life (their FBI handler). The story keeps anyone on their toes. Mr. Ponti is one of the best writers around. Please keep writing more trilogies. You're a national treasure!
The only reason that I didn’t rate this book 5 stars was because it wasn’t as great as the other two books in the series. But this book was a very suspensivie and hard to put down read. It is also a very educationally beneficial read since it teaches a lot about the history of the Library of Congress in a fun way. This is definitely a book I would recommend.
Trapped lives up to the two previous books - clever, interesting, and fun. I'm a retired teacher and still keep up with some kid lit and this one is well worth the $ investment. I've since donated the books to my granddaughter's school library and there are students who've been anxiously awaiting their chance to read it.
As an adult I am not the target audience for this series. However, it is a wonderful book and hopefully not the conclusion to the series. I received Trapped! today and finished it in one sitting. I really enjoy how Ponti weaves history, mystery, and critical thinking into his writing.
I bought two sets of these and sent them to two kiddos I know stuck at home during the pandemic. They both loved the series. One stayed up all night and read the first two books. I would highly recommend these. I love seeing kids read in a world with too much screen time!
This book was the perfect complement to James Ponti's "Framed" and "Trapped" books. The book concludes the series with a final mystery which challenges the main charecters in the story in a different way to previous books. This is a great series for all people who enjoy a tale of mystery and friendship, and for kids who like to stand out from the crowd.
