I love books from the south! I love the red dirt road references which are indigenous to the south. There have been many books and songs written about the red dirt road. My favorite by Brooks and Dunn “Red Dirt Road Anthem”

It’s where I had my first kiss
Where I found Jesus
Where I wrecked my first car
I tore it all to pieces
On that red dirt road

Loved the characters in this book. I was really torn between Jesse’s love interest. Although, I know she could never accept the lifestyle of Sumner, I believe if he could he would have left it all behind for her. But I’m happy with the ending. Wish there was a part two!

I love the other books by this author and i really got into this book. It was a great story line. However the last few chapters felt rushed, it honestly felt as though the author got bored and just wanted to wrap it up. New characters were introduced in the last few chapters but then nothing ever comes of them. The storyline for Evan feels very unfinished, there was no wrap up really. The story was going great the just fell off a cliff leaving you wondering what happened and what the point in the whole book even was to not know how it ends.

Really enjoyed this book, I think it's my favorite Lauren K Denton read so far! She has great character development with the right combo of love, loss, growth and change. The story follows three generations of women–a mom, her teenage daughter, and her mother. She tells the story from each women's point of view, which I love. Her descriptions had me picturing the exact location of Jessie's shop, Sumner's home on the water and the entirety of Glory Road. I connected easily to the story and loved every page. This would be the PERFECT spring break or summer read, you won't be disappointed....except maybe when you've finished and have to move on to read something else!! ;)

Being born and raised in Florida in the 60s I know what the South was like before being overcrowded and overdeveloped. I remember dirt roads, mornings with dew on the grass and orange trees with blossoms that smelled like pure heaven. Summers shelling peas and shucking corn that came from my Granny's garden...the only vegetables we knew, fresh and delicious. Glory Road took me back to those amazing memories and made my soul feel at peace. Ms. Denton has a way with descriptions that can do this and if they aren't memories for you, her descriptions make you long for those kind of experiences. The characters are all so dimensional and so individual you want to know their stories and you want good things for them. I read a lot and this book is one of the best I have read in a while, maybe because it felt so familiar. The story is a simple one but it's a heartwarming one. I recommend this book.

I gave Glory Road 5 stars because it's a beautiful story about family, love, new beginnings and sad endings sometimes. That's the way life goes. I love the setting, the characters and the plot. I highly recommend Lauren K. Denton as a fine writer any girl or woman would enjoy reading.

I could put it down for a week, come back to it and get right back into the story like I'd never left. A love of gardening heads each chapter with a quote from assorted books on gardening. I learned a lot just from those headings and the piqued my interest in gardening. The story itself is a sweet tale about love left simmering for 20 years. The characters were well fleshed out. Some might say it's a perfect beach read. But I don't do beaches. So for me, it's a great read for curling up in a blanket with a warm mug of tea and a change of seasons thunderstorm brewing outside. Well Done!!

If this book teaches you anything, it is that love is never lost, sometimes it just takes us a while to find it.
OH, I loved this books so much. The story line between the three generations is one that so many of us can relate to, as we see our mothers or grandmothers age.
It is such a beautiful love story, not just between a boy and a girl, but between, mother, daughter, and grandmother.
