Descendant: The Revelations of Oriceran (The Kacy Chronicles #1). WOW! Incredible read! Captivating characters. Attention-grabbing storyline. Better yet the first book in a multi-book series. If you love fantasy this is a must-read. Ascendant: The Revelations of Oriceran (The Kacy Chronicles #2). AGAIN WOW! Another incredible read from author A.L. Knorr! After having read the kick-ass first book. Captivating characters. Attention-grabbing storyline. The second book in a multi-book series it picks up where the first book left off, in the middle of things. If you love fantasy this series is a must-read. Combatant: The Revelations of Oriceran (The Kacy Chronicles #3). WOW! Another incredible read from author A.L. Knorr! After having read the first 2 kick-ass first books in this series this one was a must! Captivating characters. Attention-grabbing storyline. The third book in a multi-book series it picks up where the second book left off, in the middle of things. If you love fantasy this series is a must-read. As much as I want to read the conclusion I want the storyline to continue. Transcendent: The Revelations of Oriceran (The Kacy Chronicles #4). WHAT AN INCREDIBLE RIDE this 4 book series has been! Another incredible book from author A.L. Knorr! After having read the first 3 kick-ass books in this series this one was a must! Captivating characters. Attention-grabbing storyline. The fourth and concluding book in a multi-book series it picks up where the third book left off, in the middle of things. If you love fantasy this series is a must-read. A.L. Knorr has moved into my list of favorite authors! I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I enjoyed the vocal talents of narrator Mikael Naramore. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Jordan Kacy’s mother disappeared when Jordan was a toddler. When a locket that belonged to her mother, opens a portal to Oriceran, Jordan finds herself on an epic journey of self-discovery in a fantastical world. Reluctantly paired with a Strix named Sol, Jordan starts out trying to find a way to get home. By the end of the first novel, Jordan is starting to realize that Oriceran may actually be home. There are winged friends, elves, dragons, and frightening beasts. There are friendships and betrayals. There is action and intrigue. Oriceran and its inhabitants are fascinating. The first two installments set up many questions, and it’s interesting trying to figure out the answers. Plot twists keep you guessing. The third and fourth installments were action packed, quickly moving from one event to the other. This was a fun read and by the end, all of the plot lines were tied together and the questions answered. I definitely recommend the boxed set, because once you follow Jordan through the portal to Oriceran, you’re not going to want to stop reading until you get to the end of the series.
What a fun story--interesting, intelligent characters, nice world-building, and good editing!
I enjoyed that nothing was overdone. Although there was an important dragon bond, it wasn't the focus of everything; though there was attraction, it didn't become cloying; the antagonists were plenty evil without overdramatic, gory, dragged-out detail. It just felt well-rounded overall.
As for offensive content, it was refreshingly lacking. I seem to remember a few expletives, but they were few, far between and mild. No sex, no religion hating, no bloody, graphic violence. Good job!
The series came to an end with a nice wrap-up. I did not feel anything important was left hanging, but can see the possibility for more books in the future.
Thank you for the great, time spent in a new world. I shall miss continuing there. I plan to look for more books by these authors.
This is not my usual choice of reading. I was attracted by the idea of the portal to another universe and figured I could just push past the dragons, etc. But, I ended up a total fan. While I understand that there will be spin offs, I’m invested with this storyline. I hope the authors will consider adding more books.
Following the life of.. first a politician's daughter who happens to find a man. He isn't what he seems, she isn't what she thought and the whole mess gets even more twisted. It has taken four nights to read this and now I wish it weren't finished. The Kacy family provided a full tale of betrayal, mystery, love, friendship, and acceptance. Fantasy with magic, elves, and flying people. Perfection.. a must read in my books. All of the Kacy books are included so you won't miss a moment
The Kacy Chronicles are knit tight and double wrapped for a cozy read through these long “shelter in place” days of social space. The story makes an impression that remains if the book is set aside for another read left open on another device. Then with a few sentences back in, the scenes left behind for a term are settling right back into place. A lot of intriguing developments and a satisfying ending! Thoroughly enjoyed the series and looking forward to more from the author(s).
I started the Martha Carr universe not with the usual subjects. I earned money for undergraduate and graduate degrees working in Archeology. I am the "dinosaur " now. Magic and religion vibrate with my chosen profession as rabbi. I got to "wing it" with this omnibus and fill in on species which appear in different forms in later books. I am super glad I was able to "dig into it."
The Kacy Chronicles are a set of beautifully written books. The authors’ did a wonderful job creating the world these books take place in. Their descriptions captured my attention and made Jordan and Sol’s tale come to life. The characters are well developed and I enjoyed getting know each of them. If you love discovering new words, solving mysteries, action with a bit of romance I think you might enjoy Jordan and Sol’s tale as well.
This is a great series. It was hard to put down and go to sleep every night till I finished it. I was sorry to finish it i wanted more of these people they came alive for me. That doesn't always happen. Hope she writes more soon
This bookset is a fantastic series. This story is full of intrigue and mystery. And was written fantastic. The Narrator has really brought the characters out. The Author has done a fantastic job at world building and creating the characters to where it seems they are jumping of the pages, and the scenes are epic. I definitely recommend this more than 5 star read. Shauna Joesten
