This book says it's good for 5+, but my son, who started to show an interest in space when he was 2-almost-3, LOVES it. He's almost 4 now and still enjoys reading it almost every day. There is one very annoying typo (humans is misspelled on one page) but other than that it is a good and informative book. When I read it to my son I don't read everything on every page. So the next time, I can read the things I didn't read the last time. It has a lot of information, but has helped my son memorize the order of the planets, and learn facts about each planet. It also talks about nebulas, craters, space tourism, and of course space shuttles and rockets. In the back of the book is a timeline of space related events and the final pages include definitions of things mentioned in the book.
I highly recommend this book. It's fun for both of us to read. It has nice, bright photos and is large - but not too big. All in all a wonderful book for any kid!
I can't get enough of these Smart Kids Priddy books. They're simply a treat with their thick, glossy pages, bright illustrations, and simple text. This one's out of reach of the tiny hands, because I want our kids to enjoy them years down the road.
My 4 year old pointed out that the book front cover had the planets in the wrong order. It should be Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and then Jupiter - not Saturn as show on this book cover. This is the reason I am taking a star off. Apart from that great quality. My son old loves it inspite of the wrong order of planets on the cover. The picture clarity and the style in which this book is written caters to a child's curiosity. Because the paper itself is black with white letter fonts, it adds to the space theme.
My daughter is currently enamored with all things planetary and space travel! It's such a fun topic to explore as a family, and this book has so many neat facts about the planets, astronauts, satellites, etc. This book is WONDERFUL!
I LOVE this book and I know my daughter will too, when I give it to her for her 7th birthday in 2 weeks! But I might not be able to wait that long lol. Shes been obsessed with EVERYTHING SPACE related and all she's been watching on YouTube! We dont have a space book yet,and so glad to come across this, and for such a great price too! I'm sure this will be her new FAVORITE book we'll read every night before bed! I love that the pages are the THICK paper so it wont be easily ripped,if you have young kids who loves to turn the pages a little to fast lol. It came super fast and has so much information that any kid who loves space, will love to read/learn! I hope my picture uploaded right. I wanted to include a few pictures that I think any buyer would like to know about the book, without posting every page lol. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!
LOVE these books. Wonderfully illustrated and the fun facts help kids learn and read. My 6 year old grandson reads and brings these books home from his school library all the time..he will LOVE having this as a gift. I bought more then one.
