Love Pout Pout Fish

I didn’t pay attention and this book is a regular hard cover book. My daughter has about 10 Pout Pout books and they’re all board books. Oops, no big deal. (This book is quite large though)
Pout Pouts have these wonderful lessons with a great word cadence (like dr. Seuss but with a larger vocabulary instead of the odd nonsense word). The pages are filled with things to look at (illustrations) and fun little things to discover in the pictures.

Very disappointing...

Original Pout Pout Fish is 10-mo-old grandson's favorite; he will ask for it by name-- Pow-Pow!. Independently of him, it is Mom, Dad, and Grannie's favorite for the stellar poetry and sheer fun of reading it.
This "Can't Sleep Blues" immediately gives a negative impression. The rhythms are severely strained and do not roll off the tongue joyfully; in fact they are eminently trip-over-able. The illustrations, while full of clever devices, appear to have been phoned in via a dial-up modem.
I'm a disappointed Grannie with a disappointed face,
And I spread this sad review all over the place!

Love all of the pout pout fish books, but this one in particular is a hit with my son. I love that these books also have small things (like the title of some of the places in it) that even make it entertaining for adults. Great story about a fish who can't sleep, and all of the ideas his friends come up with to help him. Pictures are soothing and it's a book you can read over and over.

Not as good as the other books. It does read as smoothly as the other ones. My kids, who can quote Pout Pout Fish books with out looking, wouldn't stay engaged in the story. They were disinterested after the 3rd page. Pretty disappointed, we waited a while for this book to be released.
