Durable Set For Small Kids!

I love this kit! I have small children who got a kitchen set last Christmas but their plastic foods had been crushed. I wanted to find something durable and that would last a long time. This kit is so neat, it has a soft tortilla, hard tortilla and comes with 3 types of meats. All which are Velcro so your kids can pretend to cut the items apart, which is a pretty important skill for small children to obtain, eye and hand coordination. The box in which the play rice came in is also really durable so you would need to really try to crush it, I'm really pleased. I found the packaging of the rice, beans, sour cream, and cheese all so neat! My kids range from 3-5yoa and all 3 of them love their new food set for their kitchen. I would recommend, also if you're concerned the wood being too hard and if thrown hurt, the wood actually seems really light. I'm sure it'd hurt but not as bad as something super hard and thick and heavy would. Happy shopping!

My 2 year old grandson was so excited to see this set when he came to visit. We played for hours making burritos and tacos. He has a Little Tykes grill which he immediately put the "cast iron" skillet on to cook up some steak and chicken. I love the velcro on each piece so you can stick any number of different meat and veggie combos together. The "salsa" that shoots out of the salsa bottle was a huge hit!! He put "salsa" on everything including the dog :) He loves the beans and crema cans with the beans and crema inside. We put the rice box away for now as I feel the cardboard will get demolished much too fast with a 2 year old. My only complaint with this toy is the taco shell is so slippery nothing will stay in it. My grandson was so disappointed every time he worked hard to make the perfect taco and all the fillings fell right out when he tried to hand it to me to take a bite. I'm going to glue in some felt which I hope will solve this problem.

The salsa bottle that pours out a piece of felt is an especially big hit. lots of nice size, good looking pieces that fit into their own little boxes and containers. it occupies him for quite a while, pretending to cut and cook, but also just opening things and moving them around. If your kid like the Dragons Love Tacos book they'll enjoy this, comes with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and the dreaded spicy salsa, among other things. only complaint is that it did not come in a larger box or crate that holds everything together for storage like some of the other Melissa and Doug kits do.

This is adorable! Some wooden pieces, some felt, and some plastic. Includes salsa that squeezes out, a little bag with adorable (and likely to be lost very soon) tiny pieces of shredded cheese, a hard plastic taco shell, a soft felt tortilla, and wooden food that velcro together to cut (pepper, onion, avocado, meat, tomato, etc) as well as hot sauce, a can of sour cream and a plastic pan. It’s adorable and even my bigger kids jump in and play with this set.

Cute play food set. I especially love that the salsa bottle has an attached bit of plastic that comes in and out of the bottle to imitate salsa coming out. I also like the fake shredded cheese in a packet. I only note that the red ‘sleeve’ on the tip of the pan falls off too easily in my opinion. Overall, cute set and a nice addition to a play kitchen.

This set is too cute! We love melissa and doug anyways but this set is the best! The skillet even has a little felt holder for the handle. The avocado slices, shrimp, shredded felt cheese, i could go on and on. Its just too cute and my kid hasnt been able to destroy a single piece so far! It comes with a little menu too. This set is just so much more detailed than i expected and its worth every penny!

Such a fun set for my 2 years old’s play kitchen. I have more fun playing with it probably! Only complaints are the durability of the cardboard rice box and clear plastic container for veggies. Both were torn/damaged quickly. Also, the felt shredded cheese is hard to keep track of. Love that they can cut the ingredients through the Velcro with the knife. Love the detail of including a fajita pan handle cover. Also, my kid’s favorite thing is the salsa bottle with the squeezable strip of red felt that pops out. Very fun set and different from the other basic food sets out there.

This is probably the cutest food set I have ever seen. All the veggies and meat velcro together and can be "cut" apart. The bean and sour cream cans open so you can store the little felt food in them. The cheese pouch even has little strips of felt cheese in it. It's super cute and my son loves it.

This food set is so cute and durable! My kids loved it as much as I did! I also have a child with Down syndrome who can be very destructive along with her twin brother and 5 yr old sister! I love how they can cut it and stick it back together and also comes with a menu that tells them what to put on it! Overall the sets are a little pricey but you get what you pay for and these will last compared to the plastic food sets that get broken, stepped on or squished because they try n take a bite out of it and end up in the trash!
