Frustrated with the retraction, but beautify screen
Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2019
I am pleased for the most part on how this arrived.
The unit was very well packaged, I didn’t have any damage on the main packaging, but did have some damage to the edge pieces that were added to the original box.
First issue one of the stopper caps was pressed in to the opening, I had to use a tool to pop it out since it was stopping the screen from coming down. Reinstalling the cap was not that difficult, overall not a big problem.
Got it mounted on the wall, that wasn’t difficult either.
Pulled the screen to see how it looks, looks great. No issue there.
Tried to put it away... spent 10+ minutes trying get the screen to retract. I’ve used manual screens before but never had an issue like this. I then went to the instructions thinking something may be special about this, no... it’s just like any other retractable screen. It is supposed to click and then roll up, I wish it was that simple. At first I was starting to fear it would not go up. I pulled it down all the way a little at a time thinking I needed to pull down more for it to go back up. At first I was going up 1 click at a time, after getting 1-2 inches in to the white some miracle happened and I got half way, then slow progress again. And after another 3-4 clicks another miracle but it still did not go all the way. I then got stuck again. After 10+ minutes later I finally get the screen fully retracted.
No technique worked for single pull retraction. I might try ceiling mount to see if that helps, if that doesn’t fix it I may have a defective unit.
What a headache right now.
1 Star for quality
1 Star for ease of setup
No other stars since retraction was a PITA and took more time than unboxing and installation.
