This recipe book is divided into several sections.... Appetizers and Drinks, Main Dishes, and Desserts. Lots of recipes that were provided by the authors ...think over 25 authors in all.
I love to cook and always look for ease in preparation as well as the local availability of the ingredients. I went through and selected the ones that made me 'drool' as well as the ones that will be really tasty in the winter.
In the Appetizer section, will make the Ham and Cheese Cups. Will have to cut it down considerably as it is for 24 servings. Sounds really good.
Selected several in the Main Dishes category including the Crock Pot Venison Stew (Yes, deer season will be upon us soon in Vermont), the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Am not a fan of Velveeta cheese, as our state has a lot of cheese around. Am thinking I will substitute a cheddar with horseradish instead. Also, the Smoked Salmon sounded really good but no smoker and the availability of salmon is nearly non-existent...
Christmas chestnut stuffing is on my list for over the Holiday season. Have not had any chestnuts since I was stationed in Spain. Used to buy them roasted on the streets in Sevilla for a few pennies a package.
In the dessert section, there are some really outstanding recipes. I will make the Cranberry-Apple Crumble..and once again due to the availability of apples in Vermont. Love carrot cake and the recipe sounds excellent. Only made it once and had to hand grate the carrots. No food processor so will just drool on that one, too..
Will save these on my Kindle so I can return and try some others over the Holiday season
Most highly recommended...
