I actually ended up enjoying the book!

I actually ended up enjoying this book... but, it's not without some issues!
Initially it seemed that the four Authors writing this book, tackled Bookburners as if it was a free-for-all... to write a chapter/short story, with the exception that they used the same characters and that those same said characters had to fight a Demon. Definitely not my favorite way of story telling.
Yes, each story's placement in the book is in sequential order, but the overall story ARC at this point is as thin as watered down baby food, and I bet you, that you could read any one of the first 6 or 8 chapters, and it would feel like a stand-alone story! It really wasn't 'til later that the authors finally tightened up their writing and actually pulled the story threads together!
Also Brian Francis Slattery, loves him some dialogue tags, making his chapters stand out like sore thumbs! So it's like he, or maybe more precisely the story editor couldn't even be bothered to trick you into believing that this was one smooth collaborative effort!
It really wasn't until I got past the first half of the book that my interest was piqued enough to make me want to binge to the end!
Xe Sands again does another fantastic voice performance for this Serial Box original!
There's so much potential here, I even kinda, sorta want the next book, because surely the authors have learned their lessons from the mistakes they made in this book... Right? Uh huh, right...
