A wonderful book!

I ordered this book for my granddaughters based on the online description. When the book arrived I was even more pleased. It talks about speaking up when needed, saying no to friends, practicing kindness and many other issues young children face in their everyday lives. Colorful, multicultural illustrations are delightful. When a dificult decision or situation arises, it advises children "to listen for that quiet voice inside" and when they do, that voice can be their guide. I can hardly wait to share this book with my granddaughters in person!

i liked this book, it was engaging for my kids (ages 4,5,6) and provided good ideas for managing bumpy roads. i would have liked a bit more about why doing hard things is good for you or a deeper dive in some of the pages, but overall a good buy

Affirming for kids, not great print quality

The message of the book is affirming and positive for children, but I agree with a previous reviewer that the language and message does not always flow smoothly between pages. Also, the print quality is relatively low with white edges left on many of the pages where the illustrations should end. I knew it was a gamble when I ordered it, but overall it has good messaging so I’m not too disappointed.

This is less a bedtime story, and more a book of quotable mantras for kids. It's full of great messages about being yourself, being kind, and being helpful, but also about staying true to yourself- even if it means saying no sometimes.

I LOVE this book, some of the words and phrases are a little older than I would like ( I do therapy with elementary aged kids) but it is nothing we can stop and process in session. This is great for therapy with kiddos who are having a hard time. I have been using it to work on our thinking process. This would be also great for classroom teachers!
