To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought this book to give to my daughter who is a mental health therapist for children and teens. She often shares books with her clients. I usually try to flip through it read them first before giving it to her to see if I feel it's appropriate, useful it just a great read for children. I am an animal lover so was excited to read this book from such a standout author. I love it so much it will be hard parting with it!
This book does not display properly on my Kindle Paperwhite - the "pages" are positioned half way down the screen and so at no point is the full page visible. There are no options to adjust size of print. On my Kindle app for iphone, it appears as it were a PDF document - full pages that can be zoomed in on but no option to adjust print size. A completely unsatisfactory reading experience for a book I was very much looking forward to reading with my daughter. Can't believe that in 2019 Amazon can sell you an ebook that can't be read. In addition it appears my only option is a fully refund - whereas what I want is to be actually able to enjoy the book on my Kindle!! Amazon, where is your customer service when we need it?!
My 9 year old is a reluctant reader so I’m always on the hunt for books I hope will engage him! He loved the truth pixie and he loves animals so I thought I’d give this a go. He loved it! And enjoyed telling me what was happening in the story and sharing animal facts! I learned a thing or two as well!
Matt Haig is in a league of his own. Me and my daughter both love snuggling on the sofa to read this book together. Not only is it an interesting book but has bought up conversations about other subjects that we spends a lot of time discussing, such as climate change, Amazon rainforest, Dawa, etc. Will be purchasing more of his books for sure!
Oh we loved this book. My 7 year old daughter did get a bit frightened towards the climax of the book but she was so desperate to know what happened that she pushed through. A great story was some brilliant characters
I liked that Evie can speak to animals and that she is so adventurous like me. My favourite part was when they saved all the zoo animals from Mortimer J Mortimer’s trap. Evie and the animals is the best book my mummy has read to me. My mummy liked it too 🙂😇🥰 - Aphra, aged 7 & Mummy, aged 41
