I don't enjoy ripping apart an author, but must with Ms. Daley. She's a terrible writing. Needs a better editor. Doesn't know how to engage the reader.
She used "hope," "try/trying," and "time" more than 4 times each in just two paragraphs. Every hear of synonyms? And her dialogue with her agent doesn't ring anywhere near true. I do know what such a conversation sounds like.
Her heroine drags the story along. I am tired of hearing about her dead husband and son. Abigail's relationship with her sister, Annie, is dreadful. Heck, the sister attempted to declare her incompetent so she could get her grubby hands on the late grandmother's estate. However, hapless Abby doesn't even consider that. I should have given up with the 1st book in the series. My husband liked that one. But he now dislikes the passive protagonist.
Can't fathom how Ms. Daley continues to publish such drivel. Save your money cozy mystery lovers.
