Not exactly what I hoped for

My (grown) son wanted this after watching the YouTube series. I really wasn't expecting everything to be so complex. Most things want you to make all your own spice mixes and literally everything from scratch. Most of these require such and immense amount of time and preparation (for a sandwich?) that it's highly unlikely that we'll make very many of these recipes. So far we've made 3 of them and while the recipe was good, they weren't like "OMG this is sooo good". Probably you have to watch the series before ordering the book, maybe that would temper your expectations. I was not familiar with it, but even my son was like "wow" the series makes it look so much easier. So, unless you like obscure things that require the kitchen sink to make, I'd take a pass on this one.
