How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

5.0 out of 5 starsTwenty Wishes Can Change The Reader's Life Too!
Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2019
I've read "Twenty Wishes" several times over the years, and I have found lessons to live by each time. It is the most encouraging book I know to help someone who is stuck in depression, or blocked from moving on after losing a loved one either through a divorce or death. I have recommended this book often and have given it as gifts to friends. Once articulated, a wish can become a dream fulfilled. I like the variety in age and life situations that the principle beliefs apply in the stories. And many of the stories are completed in other Debbie Macomber Blossom Hill books.

I almost stopped reading it because it just went on and on about how Anne Marie just couldn't move on after her husband's death. But then she took in the little girl Ellen and it became really interesting and the characters actually became fleshed out instead of boring widows. Loved the ending.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not as good as her others

I love almost all of Debbie Macomber's books. This one was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as her other ones. I felt it was a bit too predictable and reiterated some sentences too often.

I first learned of her by coming across her Cedar Cover series and couldn't put those books down until I had read everyone in the series. I was excited to begin reading another of her series-The Blossom Street series but am a bit disappointed that each book in this series almost seems very separate from the others. It doesn't seem to have as much of a continuing story from one book to another like the Cedar Cove series was.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not great either

As with any other Debbie Macomber book I've read, this is an easy read. I liked the characters but the storyline was so predictable that it was almost pointless to continue. It's what some people refer to as chick lit which I don't normally read. IMO, it's even too predictable for chick lit! It's okay if you want a mindless read at the cottage or beside a roaring fire in the winter. Just don't expect any surprises.

It wall a typical DM, feel good novel. Lots of Christian themes woven throughout. Everything ends Happily Ever After.

It seemed I could almost guess how each chapter would end. It's a happy story which I enjoyed but without twists or surprises.

As soon as I read the descriptions of Lillie and Barbie, I knew I was not in for anything I could sink my teeth into. This book reminds me of meringue --light and fluffy, all appearance, not much substance. Ms Macomber can write and has written much better books than this one.

I am a Blossom Street follower. She makes me want to move to Seattle and learn to knit! The idea of the twenty wishes is not new, but I am sure many of her readers are busy on their own lists!

3.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed the book

I enjoyed the book, but found some of the content somewhat silly. Barbie's infatuation with a man in a wheelchair and how she went about attracting him was not enjoyable.
